FABULOUS AND 40

LVCA staff, Steven Reid, Catherine McCall, Rebecca Thomas, Maureen Overstreet, Heather Tebbenhoff, and Ellen M. Osborne; Executive Director Ellen M. Osborne cutting the cake; LVCA student Lever and his tutor Sue.
Thank you to everyone who helped make our birthday party a success! It was so wonderful to see past and present tutors, board members, and students! The day was filled with giveaways (we still have grocery bags and pens if you stop by our office), games, food, and, most importantly, reminders of the ways Literacy Volunteers has impacted the lives of Charlottesvilians for 40 years. Congratulations to Marsha Conway, our fleece raffle winner!
Did you miss the event, but you don't want to miss out on the fun? Good news! You can take the history quiz or play LVCA bingo with your student. Both are linked below.
We especially want to thank Albemarle Baking Company for donating the birthday cake.
Now, who is ready to celebrate next year?

Ways to Give This Season

We know that you get so many messages about Giving Tuesday and end-of-the-year giving, but the fact of the matter is that nonprofits rely on this time for their budget. This year, we wanted to give you a few options to give and let you know where that money goes.
Giving Tuesday
Tuesday, November 28, is Giving Tuesday. This year, we are hoping to raise $1000 to cover new textbook sets for 25 new students. A textbook set costs approximately $40. Please consider helping us reach this goal

We'd love to share more about our mission and the students we serve. If you're interested in planning a speaking or writing opportunity with us in 2024, please get in touch with Heather at Heather@literacyforall.org
