November Mama of the Month
I’m Tiffany, and I’m thankful for this community! My affiliation with FIT4MOM Norfolk started in mid-summer, and joining up with you all is by far my favorite thing I’ve done for myself during the pandemic. I enjoy the HIIT workouts, of course, but I’ve also really enjoyed getting to know other physically active moms in my city! I like the wholistic approach to “fitness”, including good nutrition, the importance of stretching, whole-body workouts, and occasional mental/devotional-type moments at the end of workouts that send me off in the right direction.
A bit about me: I’m originally from Texas. I came to Norfolk (for the first time) around 16 years ago when I came into the Coast Guard as a JAG. I have since transitioned to being a USCG reserve officer and work as a civil servant / attorney with the US Navy. My husband, Travis, and children, ages 5 and 3, are my rocks. I love them to infinity and, of course, they keep me busy... making work and fitness sessions sometimes feel like a refuge!
Thanks for all you do for your communities and families - especially those of you who are military spouses. I’ve always admired the strength and adaptability of the military spouse. Many times it’s so much harder to keep the home fires burning than it is to go on deployment. As Erin would say, “I see you, Mama!”
