Hockaday Highlights

Good afternoon,
We send this newsletter on the heels of the Annual International Day of the Girl – a day that was celebrated by many girls' schools around the world!
At Hockaday, we are focusing on girls and their education every day. Today, as part of our current parent education series, our community heard from Dr. Lisa Damour, a 2017 Hartman Fellow and author of The New York Times bestselling book, Untangled: Guiding Teenage Girls Through the Seven Transitions of Adulthood. This Sunday, we look forward to the Installation of Hockaday's new Eugene McDermott Head of School Dr. Karen Warren Coleman.  In addition to the highlights you’ll see below, our Varsity Teams have been winning on the athletic fields, the Boarding Students visited the State Fair of Texas, fifth graders returned from their annual trip to Balcones Springs and our Lower School girls have enjoyed practicing Mindfulness in their classroom “Calm Corners.”
We encourage you to visit our campus this fall or winter for a parent meeting or event so that you can experience Hockaday first-hand. I hope to see many of you next week at our Lower School Parent Visit, the Middle/Upper School Admission Preview Day or our Overnight Boarder Visit
Please visit our website for school news and admission information and events or give us a call, 214-360-6524. We look forward to getting to know you and your family.
All My Best,
Maryanna Phipps
Director of Admission and Enrollment Management
