Program at Pope Leo’s Alma Mater, Villanova University, Builds Bishops’ Leadership Skills
CatholicPhilly
A Villanova University program is helping newer bishops in Philadelphia and across North America grow their management skills and better equip them to lead the faithful — all with the blessing and encouragement of a Villanova graduate, Pope Leo XIV ... “The Church is not a business,” said Matt Manion, the David Grenon Family Faculty Director for the Center for Church Management. “The Church is an organization with a world-changing mission of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, but it is an organization, and leaders have a responsibility to steward the people, the money, and the other resources in a way that is worthy of the Gospel.”

The Rev. Kevin DePrinzio, OSA, PhD, Villanova University’s vice president for Mission and Ministry, has been elected to the General Council of the Order of St. Augustine, for which he will immediately begin a six-year term in Rome as assistant general for English-speaking provinces. "...It still hasn't even quite sunk in. To be voted and chosen from your brothers to serve in this way is very humbling, for sure," said Father DePrinzio.

Astronomers Discover Previously Unknown Quasi-Moon Near Earth
CNN
Astronomers have spotted a quasi-moon near Earth—and the small space rock has likely been hanging out near our planet unseen by telescopes for about 60 years, according to new research. “Based on what little we know so far, it’s almost certainly a rocky and natural object — sometimes old satellites and rocket junk end up in these very-near-Earth kinds of orbits, but we can often tell ‘natural’ (e.g., asteroidal) from ‘artificial’ (e.g., satellite) based on how their orbits evolve on short timescales,” said Dr. Teddy Kareta, assistant professor in the department of astrophysics and planetary science at Villanova University. Dr. Kareta was not involved in the study.

Maintenance and construction activity on our Cabrini Campus is fully underway this fall semester. This activity includes construction, landscaping, tree maintenance, and removal.
Due to the ongoing nature of the work being done, be advised that the Cabrini Campus is currently closed. For our neighbors' safety, we ask that you refrain from walking or driving through campus during this time. We are excited to welcome our community back to campus in the Fall of 2026.
