We officially welcome all the 2024 May graduates to the UNO Alumni Association. Congratulations to you and best wishes on your next steps!
We are also in transition, as our fearless leader, Rachel Weiss, will be leaving us after six years at the helm. We are heartsick about her going, but she received "an offer she couldn't refuse." Please join us in wishing Rachel all the best in her new endeavor! As always, the team will continue to be available to assist you with anything you may need.

Embark on a wild ride with Jerry Strahan, the mastermind behind the infamous Lucky Dogs hot dog cart. Strahan will regale us with tales of his crew of misfits who brought the French Quarter to life in the '70s.

Student Access and Success Drives UNO’s New Enrollment VP |
Randall Langston, the University of New Orleans’ new vice president for enrollment management, wants to help “demystify” the collegiate journey for students by providing academic support that begins prior to admission and extends beyond graduation.

| UNO Featured in New Hit Movie |
Students may have seen some of the campus filming this spring for the movie, "Hit Man," starring Glen Powell. In the new film by Richard Linklater, Powell plays a UNO Psychology professor who poses as a hit man for the NOPD to catch people who hire assassins. The film is currently in theaters and soon to be on Netflix. Its great reviews include a rating of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. Don't miss this one!

Moreau will enter his 27th year working with the Saints organization on gamedays, having started handling press box announcing duties in 1998 and 52nd season as a public address sports announcer.

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Alex Lazard '22 First Worked to Improve His Community at Age 11. Now He is Leading the LPTFA.

When Alex Lazard was 11, he and his family left Oklahoma and landed in Lafayette. His dad, Ken Lazard, had yet to start what would later become Destiny of Faith Church, but his three boys quickly found themselves helping those in the neighborhood.

| UNO Recognized as Hunger-Free Campus |
The Louisiana Board of Regents recognized UNO with a 2024 Hunger-Free Campus Award! This award aims to support higher education institutions in their efforts to combat food insecurity among students. UNO will receive $8,000 in funding to bolster their initiatives dedicated to eradicating hunger on campus.
