We know everyone is eager to respond to the devastating tornadoes that impacted our Mississippi friends and neighbors. Our communion offering for the month of April will be designated for disaster response to meet these needs. You may give in worship using the offering basket in the back of the worship center (mark your gifts “April communion,” or you may give online or through our Vanco mobile app (under communion).
We have also received this update from the Conference office as well a video message from our Bishop. (see the video message below)
“We know that recovery from these storms will take months if not years. Many lives have been forever changed, but The United Methodist Church, through its mission arm the United Methodist Committee on Relief, UMCOR, will be there until the last person is recovered. *Continue to pray for all those who have been affected, directly and indirectly.
*We have been asked not to deliver anything directly to Rolling Fork. The storage facilities there are full.
*Disaster early response teams, ERT, teams have started in Rolling Fork. If you are interested in being a part of an ERT team in one of our many affected areas, please reach out to Willie Morris at morris61@msn.com.
If you have questions about the various affected areas and want to volunteer, please reach out to Rev. Frank Newell at fnewell@mississippi-umc.org."
