SPRING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM AND HONORS CONVO
The spring scholarships and awards traditionally presented at the Spring Honors Convocation each year will be presented virtually during Senior Week, which begins May 17. Non-senior students and families, stay tuned for videos posted to social media and YouTube for notification of awards. Senior awards will be presented separately that same week (details to come). Although the Spring Honors Convocation looks a little different this year, we're glad we're still able to celebrate our students and their accomplishments in this way!

HAPPY TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK!
In celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week, students in Chinese classes wrote thank you notes to their teachers in both Chinese and English. Teachers were surprised and happy to receive these heartwarming cards. Teachers, thank you for all the hard work you've done, especially during the pandemic. We appreciate you!

CONSERVATION CLUB HOSTING E-WASTE DRIVE
Conservation Club is hosting an E-Waste drive on Friday, May 14, from 7:45 to 9:00 a.m. in the east parking lot by the soccer fields. This is a great opportunity to clean out your basement, garage, closets and attic, and to safely and responsibly recycle your old electronics.
If it runs - or used to run - with a plug or a battery, you can recycle it! A small donation would be greatly appreciated to help offset Conservation Club's expenses for hosting the event through RecycleForce; a $25 donation for TVs and monitors, $25 for floor and projector TVs, and $20 for refrigerators and air conditioners is requested. You may check RecycleForce’s website for more information on acceptable appliances.

BREBEUF JESUIT PROM 2021 - A RED CARPET PROM
Saturday, May 15
Back in March, we asked seniors and juniors to please save the date of May 15 on their calendars for Prom. And now that we are less than two weeks away, we wanted to send a reminder regarding the details around this year's event
- Saturday, May 15, 8:00-11:00 p.m.
- Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Students must be inside by 8:00 p.m.
- Students must present their School ID to enter.
- Location - JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis.
- Attendance limitation: Prom will be for Brebeuf Jesuit juniors and seniors only. No freshmen, sophomores or students from other schools will be permitted to attend (if local conditions change and attendance needs to be further limited, then we would give seniors priority to attend. We do not anticipate this being necessary at this point).
- Tickets will be $50 per person and available for purchase in the Dean’s Office through May 12, 2021. Please note: Only cash or checks written out to Brebeuf Jesuit can be accepted for Prom tickets.
- Students will be responsible for paying for parking.

MS. DRIER'S NEW PODCAST - LIT THINK
Did you know Brebeuf Jesuit English teacher Alicia Drier has her very own podcast with her friend and mentor, Sarah? It’s called Lit Think, and the first episode just dropped yesterday! Give it a listen if you want to hear two English teachers talk about writing, literature, media, and the classroom. They believe that every piece of writing has a purpose, that every story is connected, and that language is ultimately at the core of every human experience. You can find them wherever you stream podcasts, including Spotify. Click here to listen!

BREBEUF JESUIT STUDENTS WIN INNOVATE WITHIN'S PITCH COMPETITION
Congratulations to Emma, Krishna (Brebeuf Jesuit), and Izzy (Zionsville HS) on winning first place in Innovate WithIN’s Pitch Competition! This competition gives high schoolers from every region of the state the opportunity to pitch their entrepreneurial ideas for a chance at $25,000. It also offers these students the opportunity to collaborate with world-class innovators and help them turn their businesses from dreams into a reality.
Each student won $1,000 for this round, and as regional champions, they and other regional winners get an all expense paid trip to Phoenix in June to meet with business and community leaders. We wish them the best of luck at the State Championship on June 19!

BREBEUF JESUIT ARROW STORY OF THE WEEK
The LGBTQ+ Community at Brebeuf
Written by Valerie Kossmann '24 Staff Writer
In terms of high schools in Indiana, few places emphasize inclusivity quite like Brebeuf. Between morning reflections on how to be a better, more caring individual and talks about intersectionality led by alumni, most students would agree that diversity and identity are commonly discussed in school. This is especially evident in the wake of Pride Week, hosted by the Gender-Sexuality Alliance.
