The collaborative team of BNIM, The Harkin Institute, and MillerKnoll have partnered in design, research, and advocacy to publish ALL: The Making of the Tom and Ruth Harkin Center + A Guidebook of Strategies for Inclusive Design which shares an impactful case study and guiding strategies to elevate the practice of inclusive design across the architectural profession.

In an ongoing initiative to help advance Kansas City's efforts to become carbon neutral by 2040, BNIM Associate Principals Joyce Raybuck and Jeremy Knoll, alongside Frank Zilm (University of Kansas), have been recognized with the 2022 AIA KC President's Award for their leadership and dedication to education and advocacy in support of the recently adopted IECC 2021 codes. "...these three members devoted considerable time and effort for several years to see this through to a positive outcome. They showed that architects are credible advocates, especially on topics related to designing projects to be more sustainable and carbon-neutral." - AIA Kansas City M O R E

BNIM Director of Sustainability and Regenerative Design, Jeremy Knoll, has taken on his new leadership role as Co-President and Chair of Climate Action KC alongside Hillary Parker Thomas. Climate Action KC is a BNIM-supported initiative that brings together elected officials and community leaders who share the common goal of reducing emissions and improving the overall quality of life across Kansas City. Jeremy Knoll has previously served as an Executive Board Member and representative for Climate Action KC both regionally and internationally, most recently participating in a panel at the International Urban and Regional Cooperation Annual Event in Brussels, Belgium. Jamie Kluesner has been appointed to Overland Park's Environmental Advisory Council with a unanimous vote. In her two-year appointment, Jamie is contributing to the study of environmental issues and the implementation of programs that focus on environmental awareness and minimizing environmental impact for the City of Overland Park. "...This group of individuals is passionate, knowledgeable and resourceful in finding the right programs and assets for the city. I am encouraged that our council will bring great ideas to the city council this year.
