Dark Sky
We ask that homeowners please check their exterior lighting to make sure that it is dark sky compliant.
As a kind reminder, the Town of Carbondale has an ordinance to help preserve the view of the night sky. Residential outdoor lights are restricted in brightness and must be pointed down with a limited light arc. While the HOA does not regulate what time of the day exterior lighting should be turned off, many in the community have their lighting set on a timer so that lights are not on overnight, which also helps preserve the night sky.

Crystal River Restoration Update
The project team for the Crystal Restoration Project has been consulting with the regulatory agencies on the project, (US Fish and Wildlife, Colorado Parks & Wildlife and the Department of Natural Resources) for a review of the work schedule. Construction has not started and will not start until these consultations come up with recommendations to follow.
We invite you to read through the white paper for more information. The project team is working through selecting an appropriate start date to meet the compressed construction timeline and avoid impact to bird and animal species in Riverfront Park and will share this information when available.

Green Tip | National Fishing & Boating Week
Please enjoy the following eco-friendly tidbit brought to you by Friends of the Environment:
This is National Fishing and Boating Week. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Fish Hatchery System work with states to stock over 100 million sport fish every year to support recreational fishing! Whether you've been fishing your whole life or are just picking up a pole for the first time, fishing is a fun, relaxing activity that can be shared with friends and family. We can help protect fishing for future generations by protecting what we have now. Always carry out what you brought in and never leave behind plastic containers or packaging. Fishing line is very dangerous to birds and other wildlife, so be sure to pick up any pieces of line and take it back with you. To protect the water from invasive species, never move fish or plants from one water body to another or release unused live bait into the water. And always follow fishing rules for catch and release fishing.

Time is Up! Deer Fencing Must Come Down
This year we added two weeks to the deer fencing deadline and we hope this has allowed owners a more flexible time frame to help protect their valuable landscape from local mule deer population. The deer fencing removal deadline was officially May 31. It is now time to remove all deer fencing from your property.
Please remember that when you remove your deer fencing, it must be stored off-site, indoors, or in such a manner that it is not visible from adjacent properties, the golf course and RVR streets or paths and common areas.

Recreational Vehicle Parking and Storage
Many in the community own all sorts of recreational vehicles and other outdoor toys like boats, trailers, campers and more. We are noticing more and more of these types of vehicles parked in the neighborhood.
As a kind reminder, the Second Amendment to the RVR Master Declaration, Section 3.16, Vehicle Parking, Storage, Operation, and Repair, states: “No boats, trailers, buses, motor homes, campers (on or off supporting vehicles), motorcycles, snowmobiles, recreational vehicles, golf carts, trucks, industrial or commercial vehicles (both cabs or trailers), abandoned or inoperable vehicles, or any other similar vehicles shall be parked or stored in or upon the Master Common Areas or upon a Lot or Unit except for temporary loading and unloading during daylight hours…”
We ask those who are out of compliance to please find another location to store your RV vehicle off site. Thank you for your cooperation!

Youth and Gym Safety Course
June Class Added!
At the April 26 board meeting, the board approved a change to the RVRMA Rules & Regulations regarding the minimum age requirements for fitness facility users. Previously, the rule stated users under 15 years old were not permitted on the second-floor fitness facility. The board approved the following change:
Children under the age of fifteen (15) are not permitted in the second floor Fitness Center of the Ranch House unless:
- The child is at least the age of eleven (11) and is exercising under the supervision of their parent. The parent must remain with the child in the gym.
- The child is at least the age of eleven (11) and is exercising under the supervision of an RVR approved personal trainer and has permission from their parents and RVR management.
- The child is at least the age of thirteen (13) and has completed a course with an RVR approved fitness instructor for gym etiquette and safety, and parents of the child have completed an additional waiver for their child to use the gym without their supervision
Do you have a 13- or 14-year-old teen who would like to use the gym without a parent? Click here to learn more about the process.
