Dear colleagues,

It's been a busy few months at Stanford Redwood City, and thanks to the cooperation and patience of the entire campus community, the first phase of the space transition is almost complete.

From the Office of Development's early March move to the final waves of UIT and Business Affairs teams settling in through late June, this has been a significant undertaking. We want to take a moment and say thank you. Change at this scale isn't easy, and the collaboration you've shown throughout has made a real difference.

We hope you're beginning to feel settled in your new spaces and getting to know your neighbors. 

As of September 1, 2026, Cardinal Hall, 575/585 Broadway, and the surface lots are scheduled to transfer ownership to Stanford Medicine, as part of their plans to develop a new cancer center. You can stay informed about the project here. 

Here's what you can count on staying the same for now:

Cardinal Hall first-floor operations: The lobby, café, and conference center will continue to operate as normal. The Cardinal Café is open 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., and Cardinal To Go is open from 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. daily. 

Mail and Packages: Receiving and distribution will remain at 585 Broadway.

The Recreation and Wellness Center will continue regular operations.

Access to Barron Garage will remain the same and has adequate parking for staff and visitors.

Support: The SRWC Operations team will continue to support the campus's regular operations. Please submit a service request. 

A few things to have on your radar:

Mailing address: Update your department's mailing address within the first two weeks after your move. Building address and format can be found here.

Coffee and snacks: The plazas now have espresso machines with fresh milk; so yes, your latte habit is fully supported. Vending machines will be refreshed, and new snack options will be available soon. 

Resources: To find your building's emergency exits, Emergency Assembly Points (EAP), and more, visit this page. 

Surface parking lots: Beginning September 1, there will be temporary, limited parking spaces. 

Campus vibrancy: The Campus Services team will host fun events this summer, such as Drag Queen Bingo and the FIFA watch party, to ensure our campus remains as vibrant as always. Stay informed and up-to-date by bookmarking the events calendar.
