Fellowship Spotlight
The ETA Program places Fulbrighters in classrooms abroad to provide assistance to the local English teachers. ETA’s help teach English language while serving as cultural ambassadors for the U.S. This fully-funded, prestigious program is open to students of all majors (you are not required to have a background or future career goals in education). ETAs also have the opportunity to engage in their host community.
  • Most ETA grants are 9-10 months long and begin in fall of 2019
  • Available in over 75 countries
  • ~30 countries do not require previous study of the host country language
  • The age and academic level of the students varies by country, ranging from kindergarten to university level
  • Benefits include: round-trip transportation to the host country, funding to cover room, board (based on the cost of living in the host country), and accident & sickness health benefits

We are looking for students who:
  • Are U.S. citizens
  • Will have received their bachelor’s degree before or by August 2019 (graduate students are eligible as well)
  • Have a recommended minimum GPA of 3.0
  • May have previous study abroad experience(s)
  • May have previous tutoring or teaching experience(s)

Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation Scholarship for Low-Income Women and Children- Deadline: August 1. The Foundation offers Education Support Awards of up to $5000 each to assist low-income women with children who are pursuing education or training.

Environmental Fellowship with Nonprofit Think Tank- Deadline: ASAP, looking for fellows to start in August. We are looking for 2-4 Research Associates to complete research projects into a variety of topics, culminating in reports, datasets, white papers, and other content that would be suitable for presentation at academic conferences or publication in outlets such as The Atlantic or Vox.Research Associates should have a strong undergraduate background that includes research-based academic report writing. No professional experience is required, though 1-2 years of professional work in writing or research-based positions is a plus

GRID Alternatives SolarCorps Fellowship Programs- Deadline: ASAP, looking for fellows to start in August. GRID Alternatives’ SolarCorps Fellowship Program is an opportunity for highly motivated and enthusiastic people to join GRID Alternatives for a 13-month term. In this position you will gain valuable experience in the solar and non-profit industry to help launch your career while making significant contributions to GRID Alternatives and the broader community. More than 250 people have completed the program. There are several positions available including a Program Fellow, Outreach Fellow, and Construction Fellow. This is an AmeriCorps program. 

School of Education
NEC Teacher Scholarship Application- Deadline: August 31. The 2018 National Educator Conference (#JSNEC18) is now an all-scholarship event. Jump$tart and its supporters seek teachers who can demonstrate: a passion for, and personal commitment to, financial literacy for students; the impact they have had or expect to have among the students they teach; and the need/desire/plan for seeking the information, ideas, resources and networking offered at the conference.

Researchers and policy experts will discuss the current strategies governments employ to promote economic growth, including state and local economic policy. This seminar precedes APSA in Boston, Massachusetts and is co-sponsored with the Hilton Center at Florida State University. Travel stipends and hotel accommodation provided.
