Update from the Office of Sponsored Programs and Grants Management |
|
|
The Office of Sponsored Programs and Grants Management (SPGM) would like to inform the Radford research community of a change being made with how the office supports the dissemination of funding opportunities from external grants.
SPGM has used the ProQuest PIVOT database for the last 15 years as its primary source for finding funding opportunities. Effective later this spring, SPGM will no longer be supporting the PIVOT platform, so the office will be terminating its contract. Employees can still use PIVOT’s search engine on their main homepage to find funding. However, all accounts in PIVOT will be terminated. This is a strategic change made by SPGM, as the office now has an enhanced support structure with Hanover Research, its external consulting firm.
Hanover will support faculty with both grant prospecting and/or grant writing. SPGM is excited about these expanded services as they will be integral in supporting the needs of grant writers. In addition to Hanover’s support, SPGM will be taking a more tailored, hands-on approach in support for identifying potential sponsors by leveraging other resources.
While SPGM feels this change is necessary, the office would like to apologize to our current PIVOT users for this short-term inconvenience.
If you have any questions concerning this change or how Sponsored Programs can best support your needs, please feel free to reach out to Tom Cruise, director of Sponsored Programs, at tcruise@radford.edu.

The Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) is excited to announce a special event on World Voice Day highlighting the importance of vocal health and care.
Join CITL for the workshop “Care of the Professional Voice” on Tuesday, April 16, from noon-1 p.m. in McConnell Library 270 and or by Zoom.

This workshop will be presented by Vrushali Angadi, Ph.D., assistant professor in Communication Sciences and Disorders (COSD), who brings over 20 years of experience in the assessment and management of vocal disorders. Angadi will discuss practical tips for maintaining vocal health as well as resources available through COSD for voice care and support.
