Ranch House Renovation: What to Expect This Winter |
|
|
Details about the Renovation were discussed again at Wednesday’s Board meeting. You can read the full report by clicking here. Roofing work is scheduled to begin soon, with staging taking place next week. Beginning the week of December 1st, you’ll see installation of the new roof, along with walls going up on the east-wing addition.
Roofing Project and Pool Area Access
We are pleased to share that the hot tubs and lap lanes will remain available outside of roofing work hours.
From December 1 through January 1, the lap lanes and hot tubs will be closed Monday–Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. while roofing work is underway.
Open Hours for Lap Lanes & Hot Tubs
• Monday–Friday: 6–7:30 a.m. and 4:30–8 p.m.
• Saturday & Sunday: 8 a.m.–8 p.m.
These temporary closures are necessary to ensure the safety of all guests during the roofing project. Our goal is to keep these areas open as much as possible, and we will provide updates if the schedule changes. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we complete these important improvements.
Project Delays
As discussed at the October Board meeting, our building permit took longer than anticipated. Although we completed all design stages and submitted our permit application on schedule, the Town of Carbondale has been experiencing processing delays. As a result, we now expect a delay in our spring reopening. For the most up-to-date information, please refer to the latest Renovation Report (linked above), which is updated at every monthly Board meeting.

In Loving Memory of Tom Bracewell |
|
|
Tom Bracewell and Peggy Beeler moved to RVR 9 years ago. You could always find them on the golf course, walking in the neighborhood or eating out with friends. Tom was a resident of Aspen for over 40 years and was very active with the Aspen Rotary Club. Winters were spent in warmer climates where golf courses were still open. They traveled to Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Canada and throughout the U.S.
On November 7th Tom lost his battle with cancer and passed away at his home with Peggy by his side. He will be missed by so many of his friends here in the valley and family in California. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.

| As we head into the busy holiday season, we kindly ask all residents to help keep our mailroom running smoothly and be sure to pick up your mail regularly.
There is limited space in each mailbox, and with the holidays upon us, many residents will be receiving catalogs, packages, and other bulk mail. If your mailbox becomes full, the post office may be forced to return your mail to the sender.
|
|
|
If you’ll be out of town, please place a temporary hold on your mail delivery. You can easily do this through the USPS website by clicking here.
We also encourage you to sign up for USPS Informed Delivery, which lets you preview photos of incoming mail, free of charge, before it arrives. Click here to learn more.

Why don't Polar Bears eat Penguins?
Answer: Because they live at opposite ends of the Earth — their paths never cross.
Congratulations to Tricia Pionzio, our lucky drawing winner!

With the holiday season here, many members will have guests in town that may want to visit the Ranch House.
Here are some important rules to remember when checking in your guests:
|
| |
|
Guests visiting the Ranch House must be accompanied by a Member. Members must check their guests in at the Front Desk upon entry, fill out appropriate paperwork and pay the applicable guest fee(s), which are charged to the Member's account. Members are liable for their guest(s) and any charges they incur.
If you are unable to accompany your guest be sure to give the front desk a call for each day they will be visiting the Ranch House at 970.963.6300.
Members are responsible for the conduct and safety of minor-aged guests who are at the Ranch House, even if the child is old enough to use the facility without adult supervision (12 years old).
Each membership may check in up to 8 guests per day.
The daily guest fee is $9.00 for adults and $7.00 for children. Read more about the guest policy in the Rules and Regulations document by clicking here (pg.4)

Tom's Door Holiday Giving Program |
Tom's Door in partnership with RVR is celebrating our 10th annual holiday gift drive for Carbondale Seniors. Over the last nine years, we have experienced a generous outpouring of contributions. We are working with Aspen Glen this year to provide gift cards to all the 78 residents of Carbondale Senior Housing who otherwise might not have a Christmas. These residents are 62 years of age or older, live in Crystal Meadows housing on social security and have an income level of less than $37,000 a year. You can give them some hope and cheer and share the magic of the holiday season.
If you wish to get involved, visit the RVR Ranch House beginning Saturday, Nov. 1 and choose a key from the wreath on the festive red Tom's Christmas Door. There are several gift card options including City Market, Target and Walmart. Our suggested donation is $50. We ask that you return the gift cards into the door's mail slot no later than Sunday, Dec. 7. Please feel free to include a personal note if you wish to share a holiday message.
Additional information about Tom's Door is available next to the red door if you are not familiar with this wonderful organization and the outreach and positive impact it has in our community.
If you have any questions, please contact Sidney Poncelet at 970-309-2393 or sidponcelet@gmail.com.
We thank you in advance for your generosity.
