From the Ranch House

This is what RVR looked like before it became RVR. Note the Old Thompson Barn in the lower right corner of the photo. The property was then known as the Pleasant View Ranch.
RVR History Trail Grand Opening Set for Sunday
A grand opening event for the History Trail is set for this Sunday, Oct. 10. It’s designed for school-age kids and their parents, but is open to the entire RVR community. The event begins at Orchard Park at 10 am. It will include donuts from Sweet Coloradough, coffee and refreshments – a ribbon cutting, and a walking tour of the trail, led by Carbondale Historical Society vice president Sue Gray. If you’d like to reserve a spot in this historic event, click HERE.
We hope to see you there!
Those who participate in the Oct. 10 grand opening event are also invited to a rare tour of the Thompson House Museum, which will follow the History Trail tour.
The History Trail is a 2.7-mile loop through RVR that uses ten descriptive panels to tell
the story of how RVR evolved from being a home to the nomadic Ute Indian tribes of the 1400s, to the European settlers and homesteaders in the 1800s, to the development of RVR homes and a golf course in the late 1990s

Compost Disposal
Beginning today, Friday, Oct. 8, RVR members may bring their organic waste to the Ranch House parking lot. Look for the large dumpster towards the back of the parking lot and remember to dump your items out of the box or bag you brought them in!

Reminders & Highlights

Covid Safety at Ranch House
For the past 18 months, RVR has had one guiding principle regarding Covid: to protect the health and safety of employees, homeowners, guests, and the community. If you’ve been to the Ranch House in the past few weeks, you’ve probably noticed a sign on the front door: “Masks Required. Unless Vaccinated.”
A Board working group is developing language that will likely turn this sign into formal policy at the Oct. 27 Board meeting. This policy becomes even more critical as we move toward cooler weather and more activities inside the Ranch House.
Next week in this newsletter, we’ll tell you how to get a head start on this policy by showing your proof of vaccination to the front desk. Once you’ve done that, you’ll never have to show it again, and you won’t be required to wear a mask.
Along with the recently adopted Employee Vaccination Policy, it’s one more way we’re trying to keep the RVR community Covid-safe.
RVR’s governing documents empower the Board to take all actions necessary to establish rules, regulations, and policies for using the Ranch House. This policy, if adopted, falls into that category.
