Pool Operation Adjustments |
|
| It has been another wonderful summer at the RVR pool! As kids prepare to return to school, we ask that you please mark your calendars for adjustments to Ranch House pool operations.
|
-
Staff will be returning to school the week of August 12: the last day for the slide will be Sunday, Aug. 11.
- Starting Monday, Aug. 12, the slide will not be operational and there will not be lifeguards on duty – swim at your own risk!
- After Sunday, Aug. 11, the Snack Bar will be open weekends only until Monday, Sept. 2 (Labor Day).
-
The rec pool will remain open after Labor Day while weather permits. We will send updates through September as temperatures change and leaves start to fall.
- As we lose our pool staff, please be extra mindful of only using the towels you need and cleaning up after yourselves at the pool.
|
Thank you for an amazing summer!

Green Tip | Disposable Gloves |
|
|
Do you feel protected when you see the person at the meat or seafood counter in the grocery store put on a fresh pair of disposable gloves before wrapping up your steak or shrimp? Even though they are a source of single-use plastic, disposable gloves are intended as a defense against contamination, and we expect these gloves to be clean and undamaged. The Journal of Food Protection recently released a five-year study on the risk of contamination from disposable gloves. The study involved testing 2,800 pairs of new and unused food grade gloves from 26 different brands. Over 250 different species of microbes and bacteria were found on both the interior and exterior surfaces of the tested gloves. The results illustrate how gloves, even when they meet FDA compliance standards, can be sources of contamination. So even though your food may seem safe, always rinse your meat and seafood when you get home prior to cooking.

The vote on the proposed special assessment has concluded and the majority of the community has voted in favor of the initiative.
Vote results:
|
- Total number of lots/units who cast a vote: 383 (69% of all voters)
-
Number of "Yes" votes: 251 (66% of those who cast a vote)
- Number of "No" votes: 132 (34% of those who cast a vote)
- Number of lots/units who did not cast a vote: 169
|
| |
|
In order to pass, we needed a simple majority of “Yes” votes, with at least 60% of all properties participating (to meet a quorum). We have exceeded the quorum threshold with 69% of all properties participating in the vote. 66% of voters authorized the special assessment, representing a majority. As a result, the special assessment is hereby authorized.
The approved special assessment amount is $5,500 per lot or unit. Please note that the collection of this assessment is being carried out through a separate invoice, which has been sent to your email on record with the HOA. The invoice will come to you directly from RVR's QuickBooks account. The invoice has information regarding payment details inclusive of auto-pay options. You have the option to make either a partial payment (1/2 of the assessment) or a full payment on or before October 1, 2024. If you are splitting up the payment, the second half of the amount owed is due on or before August 1, 2025. However, we want to emphasize that you are free to make the payment at any time that is convenient for you before the due date.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the special assessment or the payment process, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to assist you and provide any necessary clarifications.
