SPRING BREAK TRIP TO NANTUCKET, MARCH 21-25
Upper school students have an opportunity to travel to Nantucket Island during the second week of our Spring Break, for a field-science based program sponsored by the Maria Mitchell Association.  In partnership with MMA and other island organizations it has enlisted to collaborate on this program, students will conduct research, learn about land conservation and resource and habitat protection strategies, observe winter shore birds and other migratory species, study island geology and coastal erosion, and explore the galaxies with MMA's Director of Astronomy using one of he largest telescopes available on the east coast for direct viewing of the cosmos.  Culinary and art projects that relate to the island's ecosystem are also  part of the program.   The cost is $600 (all-inclusive), and the due date for registration is next Friday, January 22. The travel packet can be downloaded here and an informational brochure about the trip here. Please contact Martha Tirk with questions.
