Program Update Preview

Our fiscal year closed on June 30, and we're still compiling all of our data. Be on the lookout for our full impact report in the early fall. Here's a quick peek at what's to come:
  • We served 370 students through the work of 250 volunteers. This includes a 17% increase in tutors and 15% increase in students!
  • Volunteers donated more than 15,000 hours of their time
  • Our students accomplished over 1,800 achievements, including:
    • reaching employment goals
    • reaching health-related goals
    • improving digital literacy skills
    • helping children in their education
    • improving financial literacy
At the end of each fiscal year, we also survey our volunteer tutors to hear about their experiences and find ways to improve our programs. Over the next several weeks, we'll evaluate those responses as we develop our program plans for this year. We hope to offer many more workshops, enhance resources both in our office and online, and create opportunities for students and tutors to gather together.

We wanted to share this lovely comment from a tutor survey as a reminder of the importance of our mission.

"You can read about the experiences of people new to our country and then you can actually interact with them. Big difference. Tutoring has given me a huge insight into what we need to do to support people who have come here in addition to language tutoring."
