From the Dean

On Sunday, November 18, at 11 a.m., we will honor President Emeritus and Professor Sandy D’Alemberte during a statue relocation celebration at the law school. We hope you can join us as Sandy’s relocated statue is unveiled in its new home on the north side of the law school, overlooking the FSU Center for the Advancement of Human Rights. The statue was previously located outside the FSU College of Medicine, which was established in 2000 during Sandy’s tenure as FSU president. We will also hold reception on the Thompson Green and in the D’Alemberte Rotunda. This will be a wonderful opportunity to thank Sandy for his many contributions to the university and the law school, where he led as dean from 1984-1989 and still teaches. All alumni, students and friends are invited! If you plan to attend, please RSVP by Monday, November 12 to 800.788.7097 or alumni@law.fsu.edu.

“Having the opportunity to teach at FSU law school, my alma mater, is extraordinarily rewarding. I love interacting with the bright and curious students, talking with the outstanding professors, sitting on moot court panels, and simply being a part of life at FSU Law. I am grateful that I can give back to the law school that formed the basis of my journey as a practicing attorney and law professor.”

“I am so grateful for my time at FSU College of Law. Not only did being in the heart of Florida’s capital allow me the unique opportunity to be able to work in all three branches of government, but the law school itself has been a wonderful place to learn from some of the best professors in the country and make life-long friends. As my time in law school comes to an end, I’m excited to use the skills I’ve acquired over the past three years in the next chapter of my life!”
