Manor House Submitting Plan for New Building to Replace Event Tent

The owners of the Manor House have submitted a Site Development Plan to Jefferson County for development of a building west of the Manor House to replace the event tent. They also attended a Master Association Board meeting to advise the Board of their plan. When they have complete plans they will be making a submittal to the Master Association Architectural Committee. At that time, plans will be available for the community to review. If you have questions or comments about the plan, please contact Jefferson County Case Manager Alan Tiefenbach at 303-271-8738 or atiefenb@jeffco.us. To inquire about the Master Association process, please contact Chris Pacetti at chrisp@kcranch.org.

Ken-Caryl Renews Agreement with Foothills for Use of Ridge Recreation Center

The Boards of Directors of both the Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District (KCRMD) and the Foothills Park & Recreation District have renewed for 2015 a special arrangement for residents of Ken-Caryl Ranch (KCR) to use the Foothills Ridge Recreation Center at Foothills resident rates. Prior to 2014, residents of KCR were assessed non-resident fees for Foothills facilities as it is a separate park and recreation district. For calendar year 2014, KCRMD and Foothills entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) to permit KCR residents to use the drop-in amenities of the Ridge at the same daily rates as Foothills residents. Based on the positive feedback from KCR residents during 2014, the IGA has been renewed for 2015. The Ridge, located at 6613 South Ward Street just north of the boundary of KCR, offers users an indoor lap and separate leisure activity pool, a therapy pool, a gymnasium and track, a cardio weight room, racquetball courts and a rock climbing wall. The current agreement is exclusive to drop-in use of the amenities at the Ridge only and does not apply to classes or youth programs. As part of the agreement, KCR residents must get a special ID card issued by Foothills that will identify the user as a resident of KCR. ID cards that were issued to KCR residents in 2014 are still valid for 2015. The ID cards normally cost $5, but there is no charge during the month of December. See details on the Foothills website.

Trash Service Holiday Delay

This is a reminder from the Ken-Caryl Ranch trash service provider, Waste Connections, that trash and recycling service on Thursday and Friday of this week will be delayed one day. If your normal trash day is Thursday, please set your trash out on Friday. Trash in the Mountain Gate condos will be picked up on Saturday.

Keep House Address Clearly Visible

With the holiday season approaching, more and more packages will be delivered to homes. Please make sure that your house’s address is visible and not blocked by decorations. Not only is it a problem for delivery drivers if they can’t see the number, but it’s also a safety concern because responders may have difficulty finding your house in an emergency.

Christmas Tree Sale Dec. 6

The annual Christmas Tree Sale will be held at the Dakota Lodge on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 8-10 a.m. A limited number of trees cut from forest management areas will be available to the public, on a first come, first served basis. Rangers are requesting donations in exchange for the trees, and the donations will be used to offset expenses in the open space program.

Holiday Hours for Ken-Caryl Facilities

The Ranch House will be closed on Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Community Center will be open the following hours:
Thursday, Nov. 27: 8 a.m.-noon
Friday, Nov. 28: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 29: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 30: 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

Holiday Happenings Dec. 6; New Process for Time Slot Reservations with Santa

You won’t want to miss this year’s Holiday Happenings event on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 3-8 p.m. at the Ranch House. In addition to photos with Santa, there will be holiday crafts, games, a bake sale, cookies, mini cakes, cider, the Heritage Methodist Bell Choir, a storyteller and hay wagon rides. There will be a craft fair showcasing several resident crafters. You will be able to pick up Santa tickets on Friday or Saturday this year. Santa tickets allow you to reserve a timeslot to take a photo with Santa so you do not have to wait in line all evening.
Ticket Pickup for Santa Reservations:
Friday, Dec. 5: 5-7 p.m. at the Recreation Front Desk at the Ranch House
Saturday, Dec. 6: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (or until tickets are gone) at the Recreation Front Desk at the Ranch House
Tickets are free and given out on a first come, first served basis. For more information about all the fun activities at Holiday Happenings, please see the event schedule

Parent Network Organizing Toy Drive; All KC Ladies Invited to Christmas Party

KCPN Cares invites you to help make holiday wishes come true for kids and families at Warren Village by donating to their 27th annual Holiday Shop. Each year, Warren Village collects donations of new gifts for both adults and children. The families are then invited to attend the Holiday Shop to select gifts for their loved ones, free of charge. All KCPN members and Ken-Caryl residents can drop off new gifts at the Ranch House or Community Center through Dec. 4. Please view the parents’ and kids’ wish lists of items online and be sure all gifts are new and unwrapped. Save the date for the annual KCPN Ladies' Christmas Party on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. All Ken-Caryl ladies are invited; not just KCPN members! See the event invitation for more information.
