Keeping Toros Informed

To keep the CSUDH community up to date with the latest news and developments regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the fall semester and campus operations, this newsletter will be providing routine updates throughout the crisis.

Reminder: Parking Permits Required

Parking will be strictly enforced in all CSUDH campus parking lots starting Monday, August 31. Please make sure to display a Fall 2020 semester parking permit or daily permit as required.

For students who have in-person classes:

Semester permits can be purchased online by logging into myCSUDH. Or you may want to consider getting a daily permit for $9/day at a parking lot kiosk. Note: A semester pass may be more economical if you plan to be on campus more than 19 times in the semester.

Financial Aid

Due to the high volume of calls, the Financial Aid Office is experiencing longer wait times. We ask for your patience as they continue to process applications, post financial aid offers, and disburse funds. Please check your student portal regularly for updates. As long as you filed a FAFSA or CA Dream Application and are meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), your Fall classes will not be dropped.

Student Health Care Access

The Student Health Center (SHC) continues to provide health and wellness services to students this semester through an altered medical model, with most visits conducted virtually by telehealth.

Monday - Friday: 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

A triage nurse will ask a series of questions to determine what kind of appointment needs to be made, and whether an in-person visit is required. Clinical staff are on site from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for scheduled and necessary in-person visits (for example, vaccinations, hands-on exams, or drawing blood).

COVID-19 Reporting

The university has established a COVID-19 reporting hotline for members of the campus to confidentially report COVID-19 positive results or possible exposure.

Calls will be answered by an HR representative from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Calls received after hours will be returned the following business day. When you call, provide your name, contact information, and the reason you are calling. A member of the COVID-19 response team will be in touch. All information will be kept strictly confidential.

Tech Loaner Program

Tech loaner pick-up is now by appointment only. Those without an appointment will be turned away.

To make an appointment, visit techloaner.csudh.edu, and enter your campus username and password to verify eligibility. Complete the online form and schedule an appointment. Your confirmation email will include the pick-up location and further instructions.

University Advisement Center

The University Advisement Center offers advising services through virtual office hours. Academic advisors are available to meet with students through online Zoom meetings or phone calls.

UAC Virtual Hours:
Monday: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Tuesday - Thursday: 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Students who would like to speak with an advisor can set up an appointment through the Toro Success Collaborative (TSC) via myCSUDH.
