| Fourth of July Event at the Ranch House PoolThe Fourth of July event will feature a steel-drum band, games, bounce houses and more at the Ranch House Pool. The pool will open at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. Pop-up tents will not be allowed inside the pool fence area. Please do not arrive before 9:30 a.m. to set up. The concert is from 12 to 2 p.m., but there will be games, activities and bounce houses throughout the day. Food will also be available for purchase from Archie's Dog House.

| Bond Projects UpdateThe remodeled Recreation Program youth rooms and offices at the Ranch House are ready for use! Also, the remodeled front desk and office area at the Community Center are now open and operational! Bond project construction is nearing the end. Outdoor site work is still underway at all three facilities.

| Trash and Recycling Service Delay Week of Fourth of July
This is a reminder from the Ken-Caryl Ranch trash service provider, Waste Connections, that Fourth of July is an observed holiday. Trash and recycling for all customers will be delayed one day the week of Fourth of July.

| Aggressive Deer
Ken-Caryl Ranch Park Rangers would like to remind open space users that at this time of year Mule Deer are birthing fawns and can be more AGGRESSIVE in defending them from perceived threats like humans and other predators. Please keep your dog on a leash at all times in the open space and be aware of your surroundings. Report any unusually aggressive behavior to the Rangers at 303-979-1876, ext. 170.

| Safety Enhancements to Crosswalk on Chatfield Ave.The crosswalk on Chatfield Ave. just south of Ken Caryl Ave. has limited sight distance and is a safety concern. On July 5, Jefferson County will install new sign posts with pedestrian activated beacons to increase visibility for the crosswalk. These new posts have solar-powered rectangular flashers that are activated when a pedestrian pushes the button.

| Volunteers Needed for Saddlewood Park Community Playground Build July 16Saddlewood Park, which is located at the corner of Vail Pass and Rabbit Ears Pass, is getting a new playground, and we need YOUR help to build it! Are you interested in helping your community and meeting new neighbors? We are seeking 10-15 volunteers to work alongside the Parks staff on Saturday, July 16 to install the new playground. | Junior Tennis Lessons, Rookie Tennis and Youth TournamentsThe next session of Junior Tennis Lessons is July 5-28. Also, registration is open for Rookie Tennis, which is July 7 - Aug. 11. | Trail Maintenance Update
Trail maintenance is in progress this week on the connector between Lark Bunting and North Hogback Trails, as well as the north end of the Lyons Trail and the connector between Manor House and North Hogback Trails. Machinery and workers with tools will be present, which may impede use. Users should proceed with caution or choose other trails to use this week. Please see our Trail Map for trail locations.
