Professor Antonios Koumpias published two first-authored articles: "Trust in Government Institutions and Tax Morale" at FinanzArchiv, and "Housing Bubbles and Land Planning Corruption: Evidence from Spain’s Largest Municipalities," accepted at Applied Economic Analysis. He is currently reviewing The Power of Creative Destruction; Economic Upheaval and the Wealth of Nations (Harvard University Press) by Philippe Aghion Céline Antonin Simon Bunel for the The Independent Review (TIR). The book touches upon new and old themes in Economics such as inequality, globalization, technological revolution, and climate change among others.

The Big Inflation Debate of 2021as seen by Prof. Ilir Miteza
In the spring of this year, former Treasury Secretary, and prominent academic economist Larry Summers, sparked a fierce debate when he called inflation the “primary risk to the US Economy”:

“Inflationary pressures are mounting from the boost in demand created by the $2 trillion-plus in savings that Americans have accumulated during the pandemic; from large-scale Federal Reserve debt purchases, along with Fed forecasts of essentially zero interest rates into 2024; from roughly $3 trillion in fiscal stimulus passed by Congress; and from soaring stock and real estate prices.” (The Washington Post · May 24, 2021)  [more]

Meet Matthew Wrase
Matthew graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2009 with degrees in Economics and Political Science. Starting as a co-op employee in his junior year at UM-Dearborn, he worked for the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research from 2007-2014.
Matthew has completed a graduate degree in Business Analytics at UM-Dearborn and now works for Ford Motor Company as a Corporate Strategy analyst. His current position is data strategy manager at Ford's Global Data, Insight & Analytics business unit.
