Please join the Friends of Community Gardens on September 12th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for their Seed to Table Fundraiser hosted at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens. Proceeds from the event will support the Brown County Community Gardens (BCCG)!
The BCCG has been in our community since 1995 and has grown substantially since then. Currently serving over 250 families across the 14 community gardens, the BCCG strives to continue utilizing otherwise unused land for accessible garden space. Community members register each spring to rent a seasonal plot for a nominal fee. The Community Gardens create a space where families can grow accessible, nutritious, affordable and culturally appropriate food. The BCCG has truly become a program in which community members depend on for more reasons than one.
Tickets are $50.00 per person and include: a three-course meal (beverage included) catered by Foodelicious, a local catering business focused on the freshest ingredients and local farmers, and 2 drink tickets.
There will be live music, energetic MC's, and presentations on the benefits of community gardens!
Tickets for the Seed to Table fundraiser can be purchased online at the Brown County UW-Extension Website. Follow the "Pay Your Fees Online" then, "Make Payment" at the bottom of the page. If paying online, in the payment form "Custom Section", please type your name and any other attendees you are paying for and "Seed to Table".
Thank you for supporting Brown County Community Gardens!

Brown County FoodWIse Collaborates with PBS |
Brown County FoodWIse had the fortune of collaborating with the PBS Community Engagement Department and Saturday Farmers Market on July 13, 2024. We were able to offer the StrongBodies program and a food demonstration featuring local produce, all in Spanish. The event wanted to highlight StrongBodies' access and the StrongBodies video that PBS Wisconsin recorded last year. Liliana D. Ramirez is facilitating the Spanish program. The StrongBodies video is available in English, and will be available in Hmong. StrongBodies will catalyze positive change in people of all ages to live more vital, healthier lives by providing knowledge, inspiration, access to programs, and ongoing support.
Dr. Miriam Nelson created StrongBodies, a strength training exercise program that helps increase strength, muscle mass, bone density, and balance. StrongBodies envisions a diverse community of individuals who are fit, strong, and healthy; in turn these empowered individuals become agents of change for their families, communities, and beyond.
