In partnership with the UMSL Office of Precollegiate Student Services, the UMSL COE Future Teacher Leadership Academy 2023 is specifically designed to bring high school students a vision for a career in education.  Virtual information sessions will be held as follows:

February 6, 1pm and 6pm
February 9, 1pm and 6pm

Personal Finance Certificate for Educators


Educators who successfully complete this program will receive
a Graduate Certificate in Personal Finance from the University of
Missouri-St. Louis.

Now Accepting EdD Applications for Fall 2023

Transform your career in education! UMSL COE is now accepting applications for students interested in beginning the EdD program in Fall 2023. Our unique Learning Community format involves students being admitted simultaneously to the degree program and to a cohort that is formed around a central theme. Fall 2023 cohorts include the following:

Educational Leadership for Character and Citizenship
STEAM Education
College Access, Career Readiness and Student Services in Higher Education (note: the cohort begins in Fall 2024, but there is an option to begin early in Fall 2023)

UMSL College of Education Faculty Member Announced as Recipient of AERA Award

Congratulations to Dr. Paulo Tan, assistant professor of STEM education, on being announced as the American Educational Research Association’s recipient of the 2023 Early Career Publication Award of the Special Interest Group for Research in Mathematics Education! This award is for his publication, “A Critical Review of Educator and Disability Research in Mathematics Education: A Decade of Dehumanizing Waves and Humanizing Wakes,” in Review of Educational Research in 2022.

College of Education doctoral graduates Terry Daily-Davis (left), Javania Webb (center) and LaChrisa Crenshaw (right) stayed in a Masaai village on the Maasai Mara National Reserve before traveling to Kitale, Kenya, to lead professional development workshops and conduct research. 

Scholar in Residence Robert Stanton speaks at Gateway Arch National Park

Robert Stanton delivered a passionate speech about the founding principles of the National Park Service at the Gateway Arch National Park Visitor Center auditorium on Thursday, January 12. Stanton served as the 15th director of the NPS, and last year, he accepted a position as scholar in residence in the College of Education at UMSL.
