Education alumnus James Young wins Ferguson-Florissant School District Teacher of the Year


James Young, sixth-grade musical theatre teacher at Johnson-Wabash Sixth Grade Center, was named Ferguson-Florissant School District’s 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year. 
Education alumna Alicia Leathers named new middle school principal at Lift for Life Academy

Education alumna Paula D. Knight beginning new role as Jennings superintendent


UMSL came to mind immediately for Dr. Knight to pursue her graduate degree in education.  The master’s program in education challenged Knight, and she recommends it to anyone interested in pushing themselves to become a better educator.

Education alumna Deitra Colquitt selected for Voices of Change Writing Fellowship


Deitra Colquitt, a four-time graduate of the UMSL College of Education and co-principal at Pershing Elementary School, is one of eight educators in the United States to take part in the paid fellowship. 

Educators from across St. Louis take part in IT Career Summit hosted by UMSL College of Education

Educators heard from industry leaders to hear about the needs of the business community. The summit also helped them think through how to effectively connect high school students to the workforce.

A two-year, online/campus-based, cohort program providing content preparation, school-based internship, and leadership courses leading to Missouri's add-on Elementary Mathematics Specialist certification.

K-12 Teacher Leader Graduate Certificate


A 15-credit-hour program available in both an online and hybrid format that can be completed in as little as 12 months. You may apply earned credit hours from this program toward a master’s degree in K-12 Administration and/or Curriculum and Instruction.
