Northeast
Country/WQHK-FM (105.1fm, Huntertown) morning co-host Dude Walker and afternoon host Aricka McCauley both exit. Also, GSM Suzee Leavell becomes a "K-105" salesperson.
In 1994, Mr. Walker joined K-105 for nights, moving to join the morning show in 1998. Ms. McCauley joined K-105 in August 2014 from WNDV (92.9fm, South Bend). Ms. Leavell did two tours as K-105 GSM. In between those tours, Ms. Leavell worked across town for Adams Radio Group.
Dan Austin and Kylie Havens continue in mornings at K105, while WQHK GM Jim Allgeier temporarily adds the K105 GSM responsibility.
Northcentral
In 1996, Jim Roberts left Lansing, Michigan and McDonald Broadcasting and joined Schurz Communications' group of South Bend radio stations. Mr. Roberts became PD for their AC/WNSN (101.5fm, South Bend) in 1995. Schurz promoted him to OM in 2005, Schurz Director of Programming (South Bend, Lafayette, Rapid City, South Dakota) in 2008 and GM of the cluster in 2011. Last week, Mr. Roberts exited the GM chair of what's now Mid-West Family Broadcasting and will become National Account Manager at Futuri Media.
Speaking of Mid-West Family Broadcasting, at their CHR/WQLQ (99.9fm, Benton Harbor, Michigan) night host Shady exits and joins sister WJQM (Madison, Wisconsin) for mornings ("Krista & The Morning Rush").
Eastcentral
Congratulations to Woof Boom Radio's CHR/WLBC (104.1fm, Muncie) on becoming a finalist for the NAB's 2018 Crystal Radio Awards. These awards will be presented during the NAB Show on April 10 in Las Vegas.
Central
E.W. Scripps' ABC affiliate/WRTV-TV (Channel 6, Indianapolis) reporter Julie Pursley exits after 17 years. Today, she joins Community Health Network as a communications manager. Ms. Pursley worked in radio (WAKE/WLJE in Valparaiso), and continued her broadcasting career in South Bend, Fort Wayne, Bowling Green, Kentucky, Louisville, Kentucky before joining "RTV6" in May 2001.
Southwest
Bayou City Broadcasting's CBS and FOX affiliates WEVV-TV (CBS on 44.1, FOX on 44.2) GM Jeff Fisher exits after three years. Before joining WEVV, Mr. Fisher worked across town as Director of Sales for Nexstar ABC affiliate WEHT-TV (Channel 25, Evansville) and Mission Broadcasting's CW affiliate WTVW (Channel 7, Evansville). Mr. Fisher has worked in Evansville media for over 30 years.
Dave Fields exits PD/Mornings at Townsquare Media's Country/WKDQ (99.5fm, Henderson, Kentucky) and joins sister WMSX in Buffalo, New York for mornings.
This Week in Indiana Radio History
Sign-on dates seem to be a prickly matter, subject to great debate, and mostly impossible to confirm. If there's something we need to add to the "calendar," please let us know. Please e-mail us if you have updated information.
February 25: In 2000, Talk/WTRC (1340am, Elkhart) aired its last "Sound Off". Allen Strike hosted that longtime local talk show.
February 26: In 1965, 104.9fm in Hartford City signs on as WWHC. It later moved to 93.5fm, and today is WMXQ. In 2002, retired WOWO/Fort Wayne GSM Howard D. "Tommy" Longsworth dies. Age 93. In 2004, 90.5fm, Greencastle signs on as WSPV. Today, it's WQRA.
February 27: In 1948, 100.3fm then licensed to Connersville signs on as WCNB-FM. The allocation moved twice since then and now resides in the Cincinnati, Ohio market. In 2003, 91.1fm, licensed to Columbus signed on as WYGS. WYGS later moved their city of license to Hope.
February 28: In 1997, Edgewater Radio's $4.3 million sale of WFWI (92.3fm, Fort Wayne) to Pathfinder Communications closed.
March 1: In 1985, former Indianapolis Chief Engineer Odes E. Robinson dies. Age 74. In 1993, 96.9fm in Bremen signed on as WYEZ. It's now WHPZ. In 2000, Terre Haute's WJSH (1300am) flipped formats from Oldies to Sports. Also, sister WSDM (1130am) flipped from Gospel to Sports. In 2002, WWWD (96.3fm, Churubusco) switched formats from Country to CHR, as "Hits 96." The call letters changed to WHTD. In 2003, South Bend's WUBU (106.3fm) flipped formats from Urban AC to Smooth Jazz. Finally, in 2013, WFFT-TV (Channel 55, Fort Wayne) returned to FOX affiliation, after roughly 18 months as an independent.
March 3: In 1997, Chicago's Mancow Muller debuted at his first network affiliate - Fort Wayne's WEJE (96.3fm, Churubusco). The affiliation lasted about a year.

Hosting an afternoon drive shift live every weekday.
Producing/updating imaging, promos, and liners for use on the station.
Working promotional events and remotes as needed.
Helping with music scheduling as needed.
Updating the station’s website and posting on our various social media platforms.
Helping develop promotions/contests for the station.
