Inman Jr. Professor of Economics in the School of Economics, recently presented research at conferences at the University of Cagliari and the University of Bari in Italy and the University of Surrey in the U.K. At the conferences, he presented his papers "Fly the Unfriendly Skies: The Role of Transport Costs in Gravity Models of Trade" and "Exports at the Intensive and Extensive Margin in the Face of Time-Varying Trade Policy."

Avant South at Georgia Tech will kick off with the Street Innovation Showcase in the Coda Courtyard on Thursday, Sept. 28, from noon to 6 p.m. The School of Literature, Media, and Communication's Expressive Machinery Lab and other students, faculty, and researchers will be showing off their AI-related research and projects, giving attendees a front-row look at how it works. The Street Innovation Showcase is free and open to the public.
