Former Texas Agriculture Commissioner, and TIME Magazine’s “The Cafeteria Crusader” to Join CATCH Global Foundation Board
The CATCH Global Foundation, the non-profit organization of the CATCH program, is excited to announce this week that Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, Susan Combs, is joining their Board of Directors. A champion for child health and obesity prevention during her tenure as Agriculture Commissioner and Comptroller, Combs helped secure over $40 million in grants to support school physical education, nutrition and fitness programs. CATCH Around the World
This month, CATCH Global Foundation Executive Director Duncan Van Dusen and Dr. Andrew Springer of the UT School of Public Health traveled to Tijuana for a visit to determine how the CATCH program might be integrated into five local schools there. They met with local and national officials, including Tijuana's mayor! Learn about the whole exciting trip on our blog.
CATCH Texas Announces 2014 Award Winners
CATCH Texas is excited to announce the 2014 winners of their “CATCH Champion” and “CATCH Living Legacy” Awards. To be awarded at the Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Convention this week, Karen Burnell of Dallas ISD is being recognized as the 2014 CATCH Living Legacy Award recipient.
