Here is a picture of a Chlamydomonas reinhardtii cell visualized by immunofluorescence. The red color indicates staining of the ciliary axoneme using an antibody to acetylated alpha tubulin, the core building block of the axoneme. The green color is staining of HA-tagged dynein preassembly protein PF23 in the cytoplasm of the cell. PF23 is involved in cytoplasmic assembly of the large multi-subunit dynein motors that produce cilia motility.

Genciana Mitre has been promoted to the role of Manager of HR & Payroll Services. Genciana can now be your one-stop shop for all HR-related questions. Certain services are still only available from the central HR office, but Genciana can be your Genetics Business Office resource to make sure you are on the right track. Two New Faces in Financial Management: |
|
|
Caroline Goff and Nam Dang have joined the Business Office team to support post-award financial forecasting and award management. Caroline and Nam will begin tackling the tasks managed by Alice Gleason and Chance Grannan over the next several months. You will run into them as you have questions about compliance, purchasing, or financial reporting.

Nam previously worked in department administration at BJC, building on his background with a Masters in Health Administration. He looks forward to learning more about research.

| Caroline Goff - Senior Grants Specialist |
Born and raised in St. Louis, Caroline graduated from Saint Louis University in 2021 and has been at Washington University for 3 years. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, working out, and planning her wedding.

|
The Egervari lab received a NARSAD Young Investigator Award from the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation. By testing the effect of ACSS2 inhibition on consummatory and motivational aspects of alcohol intake and to characterize the underlying epigenetic and transcriptional changes that drive drinking, this award will advance the lab's efforts to develop new therapeutic avenues to treat alcohol use disorder.

| The Jin lab just celebrated the lab's 4th birthday!

The Li lab welcomes their new postdoctoral researcher Dr. Shaozhen Xing! Dr. Shaozhen Xing received her PhD degree from Tsinghua Univesity. Her current research focus is to uncover the gene regulation mechanisms using single-cell multimodal omics.
They also installed their brand new server! Congrats!
