RAMADAN MUBARAK - BLESSED RAMADAN!
Members of the Muslim Student Union and guests celebrated Iftar last Wednesday, April 20. Iftar is the evening meal with which Muslims break their daily fast during the observance of Ramadan. This is believed to be the first observance of Iftar at Brebeuf Jesuit. A special recognition goes to Ahmed Khan '23, who conceived of and organized the celebration. Ramadan will conclude on approximately Sunday, May 1 with the Eid feast (breaking of the fast).
Eid Al Fitr Celebration
Next week, our Muslim Student Union and their guests can enjoy a celebration of the end of Ramadan, Eid Al Fitr, "the festival of breaking the fast" Feast on Tuesday, May 3. Stop by the Office of Equity and Inclusion from 10:00 a.m - 2:00 p.m. to experience authentic dishes catered by The Taste of Dubai and to learn more about the holiday. This event is sponsored by the Mothers Association and its DEI committee. Ramadan Mubarak/Blessed Ramadan!

JOSEPH PARADA '23 EARNED HIS EAGLE SCOUT AWARDJunior Joseph Parada recently earned his Eagle Scout award. Joseph is a member of Troop 56, which is sponsored by St. Luke’s Methodist Church on the north side of Indianapolis.
Joseph’s Eagle project was to assist in the organization of United Soccer Alliance of Indiana’s (USAI) Passback Program. His project prepared the storage facility for the spring 2022 soccer season. He worked with Troop 56, USAI staff, and friends to complete the project. The Passback program assists underserved youth locally and internationally with free-of-charge supplies to play soccer. Congratulations to Joseph on earning his Eagle Scout award!

BREBEUF BANDS AND ORCHESTRAS CONCERTFriday, April 29, 2022

This Friday, join the Brebeuf Bands & Orchestras as they play music from some of your favorite movies such as Frozen, How to Train Your Dragon, a plethora of Pixar movies, and much more as we say farewell to our senior musicians. The show is at the Schrott Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Butler University at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and all are welcome!

RAISING AWARENESS FOR ANIMALS DONATIONS DRIVEThe Raising Awareness for Animals Club (RAFA) is hosting a donations drive for the Humane Society of Indianapolis from May 2-13. The donations currently needed include animal treats, canned pet food, hand sanitizer, cleaning supplies, leashes, and harnesses.
There will be collection receptacles in both the main and gym lobbies for donations! This is a great way to help local animal shelters. Contact Francesca Pruitt for questions.

STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS ARE HERE!Students can pick up forms in the Dean's Office beginning on Friday, April 29. Forms are due back to the Dean's Office by Friday, May 6.
Elections will begin Friday, May 13.
Positions available include President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Class Representative. To hold an office of Secretary, Vice-President, or President, students must have been a member of student council the prior school year.
All applicants for the office of Class President, Class Vice-President, and Class Secretary must read a short statement about what servant leadership means to them and why they should be a part of the student council. The statement must not exceed one minute and must be included with the application.

BREBEUF CHOIRS TO PERFORM IN STATE QUALIFICATIONS SATURDAY, APRIL 30Our Brebeuf Choirs for the first time in the school's history will perform in the ISSMA State Qualifications on April 30. They have been preparing all year for this event, bringing in some of the biggest names in choral music including Stacey V. Gibbs, Dr. Jillian Harris Jones, Angela Brown, Erick Stark, and Bill Griffel. If you want to be in the audience cheering them on, Brebeuf Choirs will perform this Saturday, April 30 at 4:20 at Brownsburg High School. GO BRAVES!

CONSERVATION CLUB E-WASTE DRIVEConservation Club is hosting an E-Waste drive on Tuesday, May 10 from 7:45-9:00 a.m. in the east parking lot by the soccer fields. This is a great opportunity to clean out your basement, garage, closets, and attic to recycle your old electronics safely and responsibly.
If it runs, or used to run, with a plug or a battery, you can recycle it! A small donation would be greatly appreciated to help offset Conservation Club’s expense for hosting the event through RecycleForce; a $25 donation for TVs and monitors; $25 for floor and projector TVs; and $20 for refrigerators and air conditioners is requested. Please check RecycleForce’s website for more information on acceptable appliances.

MOTHER'S DAY JEWELRY DRIVE

Several Brebeuf students are organizing and initiating a Mother’s Day jewelry benefit boutique where the children at Holy Angels Catholic School can select an item of jewelry to give their mother or caregiver on Mother’s Day. Our goal is to provide Gems of Joy to every student to B-Dazzle and B-Sparkle their special caregiver!
How to HelpDonate new or gently used jewelry (no watches or pins, please) anytime between now and May 4. You may drop off your donations at the Main Lobby Desk or the Community Service Office. Please bring jewelry in a plastic bag. Cash donations to purchase jewelry are welcome as well!

Dance Marathon is coming back to Brebeuf! We are excited to celebrate Riley Hospital for Children and Riley kids across our community. Students are invited to attend for a fun and impactful event filled with music, games, Riley Stories, food, and fundraising. The Indiana University Dance Marathon team will be on site to showcase the IUDM 2022 Line Dance! Students can sign up here.
