Students must apply or reapply for financial aid every year.
Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) allows you to be considered for federal, state and university financial aid programs. Filling out the FAFSA is free. Find out more at our FAFSA information page

Verified account username and password (FSA ID)

Parent or spouse contributor name, date of birth, Social Security number, and email address

Income and asset information (if required)

You can apply online by following these steps:

1. Go to studentaid.gov

2. Hover over FAFSA Form

3. Click on Complete the FAFSA form

4. Click on Start New Form

5. Log In or Create an account, and start applying

Thinking About Dropping a Course? Here’s What You Need to Know

To maintain eligibility for full-time awards from Stetson institutional scholarships, as well as federal and state aid programs, you must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours.

If you plan to drop a course, keep in mind:

To receive the full estimated financial aid award displayed on your MyStetson portal, you must remain enrolled in at least 12 credit hours by the end of the add/drop period, Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

Make sure to review your course schedule and financial aid status carefully before making any changes.

Note: If you have a Bright Futures award as part of your financial aid offer, the award is determined by credit hour.

FL Medallion Scholars – $159 per credit hour

To allow someone access to your financial and other Stetson University records:

1. Log into your MyStetson portal

2. Click on the "Authorized Users" tile to complete the form

3. This is a 2-part authentication, you complete one part, then the person(s) added will complete a second part after receiving a confirmation email

The Office of Financial Aid cannot speak with anyone about a student's financial aid unless they are granted permission by the student.
