Mary Lee Reed is planning to go to Big House Books this Sunday after church until 2:00 pm to drop off books and help pack books for mailing. She says she would love it if anyone would like to meet after church and go with her. Mary Lee is now coordinating this ministry for PHUMC
Big House Books is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization that sends free books by request to the incarcerated population in Missisippi corrrectional facilities in order to promote literacy and be a vehicle of change for prison reform.
See the info in the education building lobby to learn the types of paperback books that are accepted for donation. You may leave your donations in the basket in the lobby. Go to www.bighousebooksms.org for more information about how you can help.

Women's Ministry Book Swap is Thursday, February 27 at 6:00 pm at Keifer's. Bring a book to swap and come enjoy some fellowship with your PHUMC friends. The cost of dinner is $25. Please RSVP here by noon Tuesday, February 25.
We hope you have Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5 marked on your calendar and are excited about joining with your Parkway Hills friends for a retreat all about the enneagram. What is the enneagram? Well, the short definition is a system of nine personality types that reveals your core motivations and how you relate to others. The long definition, well, come to the retreat for that! Don’t care about the enneagram but want to connect and fellowship with others, eat some good food, possibly win a door prize? Then come to the retreat for that! If you would like to help plan the retreat, join Pastor Dawn, Jessica Snyder, Susan Taylor and Jackie Buck Sunday, March 2 immediately following worship and if you haven’t registered for the retreat yet, click here.

We have heard that some of you would like to be part of the Congregational Care Team but the day and time has not worked for you to join. So, we are trying something new! Care Team will move to the first Tuesday of the month at 6:00 pm. For March, we will meet after our Shrove Tuesday Pancake supper (March 4th). What is the Care Team? The Congregational Care Team is an idea coming out of one of our Mission and Ministry Days Apart. It is a way for us to care for one another as a congregation connected in Christ. We meet monthly and go through members with Pastor Dawn who may need a little support and encouragement. We pray and we send a note to say you are loved. Can’t come every month? No problem! Come when you are able. We do encourage everyone to pick a month, show up, and aid us in caring for one another. If you would like to be a part but Tuesday at 6:00 pm won’t work either, let us know. We will keep trying until we find our sweet spot!

On our last day trip to Laurel a few individuals expressed interest in a day trip to Natchez. We are still working on the plans but hope to go during their Spring Pilgrimage of Homes. We need a number to effectively plan so check the date,
March 20th, and if you “think” you might attend, go ahead and click here. After we have a better count we will send out a final itinerary and you can back out if needed. There will be a cost to seeing the homes, around $20 to $25 per home, and a cost for lunch.

Changes are happening in the Saturday morning Ladies' Brunch Zoom!
The Zoom was established as a response to COVID shutdowns in the spring of 2020. The weekly check-in has served as a way for women to connect and talk about their weeks ever since! Now, to get more people connected and involved, we will be shifting to a combination of Zoom and face-to-face gatherings. We will meet on Zoom the first Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. - with the exception of holiday weekends, when we will meet on the second Saturday of the month. We also will be hosting face-to-face meet-ups every other month. We are currently looking for someone willing to help coordinate these meetings. This simply involves setting the location and sending out reminders, as needed.
Join us!

A PHUMC member has expressed interest in a Sit and Be Fit class to be offered at Parkway Hills. This would be a 45 minute class for women and men once a week in the Garden Room. Exercises would be done from a sitting and standing (if able) position working on balance, hand-eye coordination, stretching, and muscle movement. Cost would be between $5 and $10 a class depending on how many attend. Options for the class time would be Tuesday or Wednesday at 2:00 pm. Please click here or call the church office to let us know if you are interested and which day would work for you and we will keep you updated as to whether we can offer this at Parkway Hills or not. If you would like to check out this class, it is currently being offered at the Community Center on Old Canton Road in Madison (by the fire department) Monday and Tuesday at 9:15 am.
