We are excited to announce that the Colonial School Board approved the CSD Strategic Plan: We Change The Odds. The plan was developed over an 18-month period of gathering feedback, data and engaging in conversations with students, staff, and parents. This plan will serve as a roadmap to Colonial’s success over the next 5 years. Please take time to read through the plan carefully and see how we can work together to achieve our goals. Governor John Carney and First Lady Tracey Quillen Carney are encouraging students and families to read throughout the school year by promoting new Delaware StoryWalk® Trails. 

 StoryWalks are designed to promote exercise and literacy skills by spreading sections of a book along a walking trail. Families are invited to read the book together as they move forward along the trail. Discussion questions are provided with each page of the book to encourage families and children to discuss the book, which further strengthens reading comprehension.

 StoryWalks launched on September 1st in Brandywine Park. A different story is featured at each park including- Noah and the Red Cat, Spanish Tortilla, and Time to Play. All stories are available in English and Spanish.
