New Reading Program Launched
Governor John Carney and First Lady Tracey Quillen Carney are encouraging students and families to read throughout the school year by promoting new Delaware StoryWalk® Trails.
StoryWalks are designed to promote exercise and literacy skills by spreading sections of a book along a walking trail. Families are invited to read the book together as they move forward along the trail. Discussion questions are provided with each page of the book to encourage families and children to discuss the book, which further strengthens reading comprehension.
StoryWalks launched on September 1st in Brandywine Park. A different story is featured at each park including- Noah and the Red Cat, Spanish Tortilla, and Time to Play. All stories are available in English and Spanish.
