FoodWIse Nourishing the Future: The Impact of the Tausch Cooking Camp |
|
|
Empowering Future Chefs and Health Advocates: FoodWIse spearheaded the impactful Tausch Cooking Camp this month at Greater Green Bay's Boys and Girls Club, equipping ten enthusiastic students with essential culinary skills and a profound understanding of the vital link between food and well-being. Through eight engaging lessons, these young participants didn't just learn to cook; they discovered the joy of nourishing their bodies.
Thanks to the generous support of the Tauscher Foundation, TDS, and Feeding America, each student not only prepared a delicious meal but also took home a hands-on snack kit – extending the learning beyond the camp. With every participant recognizing the program's value, FoodWIse continues its mission to weave together local resources, fostering healthy eating habits and vibrant community environments for Wisconsinites facing income limitations. This small cohort of ten is poised to ripple out, sharing their newfound skills and inspiring a community of health, one family at a time.

The First Annual Greater Green Bay Cardboard Regatta |
It's off to the races for The First Annual Cardboard Regatta in collaboration with Einstein Project! The best part? You do not need to be a Brown County 4-H member to join in the fun!
Participants of this three day summer camp will have two full days to design, build and trick out their carboard boats. In the morning of the final day, participants will meet a professor from the UWGB Engineering department who will lead them through an engaging activity. That afternoon the teams will head over to the UWGB pool where the team appointed captain will put their engineering and design skills to the test!
Prizes will be given for fastest time, best design/engineering, most creative, and the biggest flop. Parents are welcome to attend the race, more information will be provided after registration. Participants will learn the basics of engineering, boat design, and buoyancy.
This isn't the only STEM based Summer Camp Brown County 4-H has to offer, so visit our website to learn more and register!

The Wonders of Physics Roadshow |
|
|
Brown County 4-H, in partnership with the Brown County library, hosted the UW Madison World of Physics traveling show in May. The show, interactive and participatory, was a one hour display of the physics that is all around us. Designed to excite young people in the world of science, we experienced tornados, energy shifts, cloud donuts, and momentum experiences - and many more.
A total of 70 individuals attended the one of the shows (show times at 2pm and 6pm). This was the second time Brown County 4-H brought the show to the Green Bay area, and future annual shows are currently being planned.
Missed out on this Roadshow but want to get involved in STEM fun? Check out the Brown County 4-H Summer Camps for STEM and art related activities this summer!
