The 3rd annual Maseeh Staff Retreat was held on August 13th. This year's theme was "Joy as an Act of Resistance". Staff discussed implementing trauma-informed practices, and how centering joy in our work will help to serve students and staff alike in an upcoming year when the only certainty is uncertainty. Key takeaways were goals for increased staff collaboration with peers in similar roles, supporting international students, improving the climate and culture for engineering and CS students, and a commitment to CRUSH Walktober as a whole staff (faculty welcome, too!).

- A key priority for PSU this coming year is to restore our pre-pandemic levels of campus vibrancy. As President Cudd noted, increasing our face-to-face interactions is essential for building trust and strengthening our community. The Provost’s plan takes effect on November 17th:
- Four Days On-Campus: This will be our new standard, giving us more opportunities to connect, create, and support our students in person.
- One Flex Day: You will still have one remote day per week. We will coordinate schedules within our teams to ensure we always have coverage.
-
Leadership Presence: Department and unit leads will be on campus at least four days a week to model this engagement and support their teams.
