Cloverly Greetings,
It's been a busy past couple of weeks here at the Extension Office! We're in full swing getting ready for the upcoming summer program season, gearing up for an incredible summer camp, day camps, 4-H Graduation and already laying the groundwork for the 2024-25 Program Year. If you've been wondering about the absence of Chippewa Chatter since April 19th, don't worry, we're shifting gears to a monthly delivery over the summer months. We'll be back to our regular schedule come September as re-enrollment kicks off. For all the latest news and updates from Chippewa County, be sure to follow us on Facebook for program announcements, cancellations, and exciting updates from Wisconsin 4-H.
I am beyond excited to learn alongside our youth this summer and to dive into my first-ever summer camp experience right here in Chippewa County. I've heard incredible stories and witnessed firsthand the remarkable work of our camp counselors and volunteers. I'm eagerly anticipating the chance to see our youth showcase their projects at the local fairs (NWSF, Colfax, and Bloomer Community). As a 4-H Alumni, Exhibiting holds a special place in my heart and I'm looking forward to watching our current youth create those same cherished memories.
Please take a moment to review the latest educator report and learn about the programs offered this year thus far: Educator Report: December-May 2024

SNACK BAR AT THE NWSF UPDATE
|
Please see below an update from the Chippewa County 4-H Leaders Council regarding the 2024 Snack Bar.
Dear 4-H Families, Volunteers, and Members of the Community
The Chippewa County Leader's Council has run the 4-H snack bar at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair for over 70 years. There are many fond memories and friendships that were made during those times. Due to recent changes with the Northern Wisconsin State Fair (NWSF) food stand contract, including a 17% commission to the fair on all snack bar sales, Leader's Council has made the difficult decision to not run the snack bar.
The Leaders Council wants to thank everyone who has volunteered over the years in the snack bar, from youth and adult volunteers to managers and money counters.
The fundraising committee will be working on a plan to continue to raise the funds needed to provide all the wonderful programming that Chippewa County 4-H offers.
If you have questions or concerns regarding the fair food stand contract, please feel free to reach out to the fair or email the Leader's Council at chippewa4hleaders@outlook.com
Thank you,
Sarah Frank
Chippewa County 4-H Leader's Council President
