October Volunteering
No tricks, all treats!
Salutations, Volunteers!

The weather is starting to cool off and we're digging out our flannels. Part two of 'Back to School' season is here and we're looking for help getting the Somerville Schools up and composting. Speaking of flannel, we've also got some spots open for the Levitate Flannel Jam!

As always, to sign up for a volunteer shift this month and receive a month of free Garbage to Garden service, RSVP by email, and we will help answer any questions you may have. Remember, events are first-come, first-serve.

Happy Composting!

Somerville Schools
Do you want to get involved in your local schools?

We're looking for volunteers to help to divert food scraps from the landfill by educating students and making sure the scraps get to the right container. Volunteers get their own GtG
t-shirt, and free month of service!

To volunteer at these schools, simply select which school you would prefer and let us know which days you're available. We'll get you the information you need and take it from there!

Volunteers will be responsible for monitoring compost/trash/recycling waste stations to help festival-goers properly sort their waste and keep the venue tidy. Volunteers get a GtG t-shirt to wear at the event and a free month of curbside composting!
Community Cooks
Community Cooks mobilizes individuals, businesses, civic, educational and faith-based groups to prepare home-cooked food for vulnerable populations seeking assistance from human service agencies in the Greater Boston area. We proudly partner with these agencies that, due to lack of funds and/or facilities, struggle to provide food for those they serve.
This is a great opportunity for you if you enjoy feeding your neighbors and are looking for a regular volunteer schedule. Community Cooks is looking for regularly scheduled, monthly volunteers to help with their program.

Mass Audobon
At Mass Audubon, they believe that every person can make a positive impact on protecting the nature of Massachusetts. One enjoyable way to have an impact on the environment is by volunteering at one of their wildlife sanctuaries or at their headquarters in Lincoln.

Volunteer with Food Link!

Food Link is looking for volunteers to help on a regular basis with the collection and distribution of donated food. Volunteers generally work in groups to collect food from grocery stores and bakeries, sort the food and then deliver it to social services agencies in the area.
