Late last week, the Nexstar/Tribune acquisition closed. We updated our Indianapolis TV scorecard:
Nexstar now owns FOX affiliate WXIN-TV (Channel 59, Indianapolis) and CBS affiliate WTTV-TV (Channel 4, Bloomington)/WTTK-TV (Channel 29, Kokomo).
DuJuan McCoy's Circle City Broadcasting now owns CW affiliate/WISH-TV (Channel 8, Indianapolis) and MyNetwork affiliate/WNDY (Channel 23, Indianapolis). Mr. McCoy is a Butler University graduate and began his television career in 1989 at WTTV-TV (Channel 4).
Exclusive: Chief Engineer Doug Garlinger and General Sales Manager Susan Buterbaugh both exit. For now, Nexstar will keep their master control hub operations in the WISH-TV building.
Finally, WISH-TV promotes Nina Criscuolo from reporter/fill in anchor to weekend evening anchor and reporter.
Update: Dustin Grove joins as a weekend anchor/reporter for TEGNA's NBC affiliate/WTHR-TV (Channel 13, Indianapolis). Mr. Grove last worked in academia at Purdue University. There, Mr. Grove taught in the Brian Lamb School of Communication and served as co-director of the Indiana High School Digital Media Conference. Mr. Lamb has previously television experience at both WISH-TV (Channel 8, Indianapolis) and WSBT-TV (Channel 22, South Bend).
Southcentral
Update: Jimmy Foxx (James Davidson) last worked at Entercom/Riverside, California at 'KFROG' ("Jimmy Hoppa"). Rich Anthony, Brand Manager for White River's WWWY (106.1fm, North Vernon) remembers Jimmy: "I worked with Jimmy at Y106. He did mornings, I did afternoons. I’ve never worked with a die-hard Cubs’ fan until he was hired. He was a big baseball fan but it was always first and foremost his Cubbies. He left us after a few years and went back to California. He was a good man and had a very loyal following out west. Our prayers are with his family."
