Dr. Abbasi will describe ongoing work in human-centered AI – the design, development, and application of advanced machine learning and user modeling methods to human-generated content, including structured, text, image, and sensor-based data – all of which has immense potential for improving the human condition. He will highlight projects related to health and law enforcement to illustrate the journey towards developing a broader interdisciplinary perspective on human-centered AI.
