From Scholarly Teaching to SoTL: 
A Workshop on Presenting and Publishing
In this two-part workshop we will explore the process for developing a classroom research project into a submission to a scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) conference or journal. In-person only, at 320 Laws Hall. It is highly recommended to attend both sessions. In order to attend the second session, you must attend the first session. Attendees should bring a laptop to the sessions.

Proposing and Facilitating an FLC
This session will provide a brief overview of faculty learning communities (FLCs): what they are; how they work; their international recognition and operation at Miami since 1979; and their teaching, learning, and/or institutional outcomes. The discussion will focus on the FLC facilitator role and the CTE process for proposing an FLC topic or cohort for the academic year 2024-2025. Time will be allocated for Q&A to support individualized learning and FLC proposal development.

Acclaimed teacher-scholar James Lang, author of Small Teaching and Distracted, will lead book discussions and workshops as our inaugural guest for the Drs. Mary (Scherger) Bonhomme and Raymond Bonhomme Visiting Teacher-Scholar Series.

Meredith Erb Recognized at GC3
Meredith Erb Recognized at GC3 “Celebration of Teaching”
Meredith Erb, Teaching Professor in Chemistry and Biochemistry and the 2022 E. Phillips Knox Distinguished Teaching Award winner, was recognized by The Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Consortium (GC3) at the “Celebration of Teaching” luncheon on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Xavier University.

Workshop Series on Supporting Diverse Learners
The Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Consortium (GC3) is offering three virtual workshops on assisting postsecondary students with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to succeed. Miami faculty and staff receive a reduced GC3 member rate.
Workshop Dates: February 28, March 13, and March 27, 2024, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
