Provost Miranda to testify at U.S. Senate hearing 

Marie Lynn Miranda, the Charles and Jill Fischer Provost, will be among six higher education leaders who will testify at a U.S. Senate hearing Wednesday, April 14, on measures Congress can take to enhance America’s scientific competitiveness and strengthen its innovation ecosystem. The event will be livestreamed here.

Students must be vaccinated to return to campus this fall 

Notre Dame will require all students — undergraduate, graduate and professional — returning to campus for the fall 2021 semester to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Documented medical or religious exemptions will be accommodated. (More...)


Black Alumni expands scope of Frazier Thompson Scholarship 

The Frazier Thompson Scholarship, named in honor of the University's first Black graduate and the first Black athlete to earn an Notre Dame monogram, has been expanded to provide grants to students who demonstrate interest in and support for the African diaspora through activities that are “intellectually, socially and spiritually fruitful.” The fund's primary goal is to enhance the experience of Black students. (More...)

Regenerating the body's natural defenses, immune system

Donny Hanjaya-Putra, assistant professor in engineering, and his team have combined knowledge of the lymphatic system, polymer science and mechanical engineering to help restore normal behavior to dysfunctional lymphatic systems. The lymphatic system is part of the immune system and rids the body of toxins and unwanted materials. (More...)

Rowing team honors Athletics Department staff members

The names of every member of the Athletics Department is painted on the side of the rowing team's new racing shell. The team wanted to honor staff members for all they've done to keep athletics afloat during the pandemic. The racing shell — which is an extremely narrow and long rowing boat designed for racing — will make its first competition appearance this weekend at the Big Ten Invitational on Harsha Lake in Ohio. (More...)

Billy Joel concert to take place next year

The upcoming Billy Joel concert has been rescheduled to June 25, 2022. Tickets purchased for the previous date will be honored on the rescheduled date. It will be the first Billy Joel concert held in Notre Dame Stadium. (More...)
