Applications Open for Undergraduate Sustainability Education Innovation Grants |
Georgia Tech’s Undergraduate Sustainability Education Committee has released the third Request for Proposals (RFP) for Undergraduate Sustainability Education Innovation Grants. These grants advance progress toward the ambitious sustainability education goals outlined in the Sustainability Next plan, part of Georgia Tech’s Strategic Plan, and the education portion of the Institute’s new Climate Action Plan.
Proposals are due Wednesday, May 15. Learn more and apply.

Professor Stéphanie Boulard (Modern Languages) recently gave a keynote at Vanderbilt University titled "Victor Hugo: From Literary Titan to Pop Icon." Her presentation delved into image analysis to shed light on Hugo's transformation into a cultural icon. She also taught a class exploring themes of social justice and migration, as well as the challenges inherent in voyages to new frontiers.

"New Evidence on the Effects of Mandatory Waiting Periods for Abortion," a paper by Jason Lindo and Mayra Pineda-Torres (Economics), and "The Effects of the Dobbs Decision on Fertility," a paper by Daniel Dench and Pineda-Torres (Economics), were cited in Chapter 3 of the 2024 Economic Report of the President.

Carol Colatrella, Rachel Dean-Ruzicka, and Zita Hüesing (Literature, Media, and Communication) recently spoke on a panel organized by Georgia Tech Housing and the Women's Resource Center before a showing of Barbie at the John Lewis Student Center. The panel discussed themes of feminism and gender equality in the film.

Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Shatakshee Dhongde (Economics) participated in a special briefing on "America’s Hot Growth States" held by the Volcker Alliance and the Penn Institute of Urban Research. Dhongde discussed some of the factors helping the rapid economic growth in Georgia and Atlanta.
