UNO Will Host 2024 ASCE Gulf Coast Student Symposium March 7-9 |
The University of New Orleans student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers is hosting the largest gathering of engineering universities along the Gulf Coast on March 7-9 as part of the 2024 American Society of Civil Engineers Gulf Coast Student Symposium.
The symposium will bring more than 300 engineering students from 15 universities in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama for three days of innovative engineering competitions that include a concrete canoe race, construction of a steel bridge and opportunities to learn more about the engineering industry.

First Grads for New Program |
The Urban Construction Management program will be graduating it’s first class. The first four graduates from the Urban Construction Management program are (from left to right in photo) Gabriel Hunt from Slidell, Ramy Abukhalil from Gretna, Mason Mauro from New Orleans and Christopher Matise from Elmwood. These grads are hitting the job market, so look out for them.

To celebrate Engineering Week, the College of Engineering hosted Engineering Day on Feb. 21, 2024 at the UNO University Center. More than 550 students attended the event from 18 schools in 4 Parishes.
