Faculty directors appointed to lead final two strategic framework initiatives

Provost John T. McGreevy has appointed Nitesh Chawla to lead a University-wide strategic initiative focused on data, artificial intelligence, and computing, and Kathleen Sprows Cummings to direct Notre Dame’s Global Catholic Research Initiative.

Forbes names Notre Dame top employer in Indiana for 2025

This 2025 ranking of “America’s Best Employers by State” follows the University’s repeated appearances on Forbes’s national and state lists, including being ranked the No. 1 large employer in the United States earlier this year and the best employer in Indiana in 2024.

University Archives lends artifacts for Rockne exhibit

The History Museum’s Rockne: Life & Legacy exhibit comes to life with some borrowed artifacts and a little help from some friends at the University Archives.

City garbage trucks to gather data on urban heat island effect

Urban heat islands disproportionately affect lower-income neighborhoods and increase air pollution and energy costs, as well as heat-related illnesses and deaths. Researchers have partnered with South Bend to collect data using garbage trucks.

Research on the impact of ‘forever chemicals’ in Brazil

Daniele Miranda, assistant research professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, and Marcio Bahia, teaching professor and associate director of undergraduate studies in Portuguese and Brazilian studies, work with SENAI CIMATEC University Center to develop and implement a program for PFAS analysis and awareness in Brazil.
