The new playground is scheduled to open toward the end of June, and the new splash pad is delayed until the first week of July.
- Dakota Lodge: The last phase of interior work at Dakota Lodge was completed Friday! The parking lot regrading is finished, and the landscaping and site work should be completed within a week, weather permitting.

| Fence Installation at South Valley Park
Jefferson County Open Space is in the process of installing a high-tensile fence in South Valley Park. South Valley Park is not owned or managed by Ken-Caryl Ranch. It is owned by Jefferson County and is therefore open to the public. The fencing is one part of a comprehensive overhaul for visitor safety and natural resource protection on site. Facing increasing criminal mischief costs as well as rock-related visitor safety incidents, Jeffco Open Space found that fencing is the most effective tool for managing visitor behavior in the absence of human presence. There will also be zero tolerance curfew enforcement by the Sheriff’s Office, park closure gates at both entrances, improved trail signs, updated informational kiosks, and two legal rock access points.

| July 4th Event at Ranch House PoolThe Fourth of July blowout will feature live music, games, bounce houses and more at the Ranch House Pool. The pool will open at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. The concert is from 12 to 2 p.m., but there will be games, activities and bounce houses throughout the day. Food will also be available for purchase. Watch for more information in the e-News and in Life at Ken-Caryl.

Trail Maintenance UpdateTrail maintenance is in progress this week on the Bradford Trail from the eastern Golden Eagle Lane access, heading east to North Ranch Road. This will be followed by work on the west leg of the Lark Bunting Trail and the connector over to the North Hogback Trail. Machinery and workers with tools will be present, which may impede use. Users should proceed with caution or choose other trails to use this week. Please see the Ken-Caryl Ranch Trail Map for trail locations. For comments or concerns about the Ken-Caryl trail system, email trails@kcranch.org.
