Ghostly particles: is dark radiation masquerading as neutrinos?
New research suggests that neutrinos in the early universe may have transformed into a previously unknown form of radiation, offering a new way to explain puzzling features of cosmic evolution.
In a recent paper published in Physical Review Letters, Bhupal Dev and his colleagues explore how these “ghost particles” could convert into more strongly interacting forms under early-universe conditions.

Wash U faculty, staff, and students gathered on Tuesday to watch the successful launch of NASA’s Artemis II mission.
Watch parties were held in Rudolph Hall and the Physics Library in Compton to witness this major milestone in human space exploration.
As Artemis II marks a significant step toward returning humans to the Moon, the excitement on campus reflected the broader impact of missions like this, bringing people together through a shared sense of discovery and curiosity.
