Cornucopia Auction Item:
Robert Dane Glassware
The Auction Committee is grateful to once again have the gorgeous work of long-time supporter of the Academy, Robert Dane, in the live Auction. Bob’s sumptuous jewel-tone glasswork can be found in the permanent collections of many museums; galleries around the country have hosted single artist shows of his work. The artist writes, " My aim is to celebrate the beauty of the progression of life as it ever unfolds and reveals itself."
This year we will have a set of Cane Cups (value $300) and a beautiful Cane Bowl (value $175)  pictured above top right.
In addition, there will be a set of Powder Twist Glasses (value $100)
STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM IN FRANCE EXPANDED
As a result of the interest expressed for an international travel opportunity, the program planned for Montpellier and Paris next spring break will also accept students in grades 9-12 who are not currently enrolled in French. Although previous French study is not a requirement, all students will be enrolled in two, one-hour courses: French (introductory or advanced) and Civilization (a history/culture course taught in English by our own Neale Gay) to take advantage of the region’s cultural heritage. Students will live with host families, make excursions in and around Montpellier, and visit the beach. Students of Spanish should be aware that a Spanish-language trip is being planned for the next academic year. Interested parents should review the flyer and contact Catherine Valdez or Sabine Mauri as soon as possible.

ACADEMY PARENTS COUNCIL UPDATES:
The Cornucopia Auction and Social is Nigh!

In two weeks we look forward to joining you in a gorgeously transformed Recital Hall with live music, delicious food, sparkling local hard ciders, beer, wine, and great auction items!
We sure hope to see you and Academy grandparents, aunts, uncles and family friends at the event! You can buy tickets and sign up for the limited child care (for young Academy students and/or younger siblings) by clicking here.
Would you like to volunteer at the auction? If so, please follow this link to our sign-up survey. You can offer to help with data entry, dish washing, clean up, or simply bring some one-bite treats for our talented Academy Upperclass waiters to serve.
Do you use Facebook?
Please consider sharing the school's photos and posts about Open Houses and concerts, and the APC's posts about some of the really neat stuff that will be sold at the auction. Click here to follow The Academy on Facebook.
