Pool Reopening Timeline & Updates
We’re excited to share continued progress on the pool area renovation. Since last week’s update, the pools have been replastered and filled with water. The new plaster now needs to cure underwater and remain undisturbed for a required period. At this time, our anticipated reopening timeline has not changed, and we still expect all bodies of water to reopen during the week of May 18.
We’re also happy to share that a good portion of our new patio furniture is here. Additional pieces are still on the way, so the pool deck may not be fully furnished when we first reopen. We appreciate your patience as the remaining items arrive.
The East Wing Addition is now expected to open in early June. We are currently awaiting a delayed order of windows and doors before that space can be completed and opened for use.
As previously mentioned, due to school schedules and staffing availability, the recreation pool may open on a limited “swim at your own risk” basis before lifeguards are regularly on duty. We will provide more details as we get closer to opening.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the pool soon!

The Ride for the Pass is back next weekend! We’d love to see even more RVR riders out there. Not only is it a great ride, but it also supports the Independence Pass Foundation, with a $45 entry fee going directly toward preserving the Pass we all love.
Grab your friends, spread the word to fellow RVR cyclists, and come be part of the fun. And yes—e-bikes are absolutely welcome!

Deer Fencing: Time to Tidy Up! |
As the season shifts, it’s time to wrap up deer fencing around the community. Many residents have already taken theirs down.
If your fencing is down, please be sure it’s tucked out of sight and not visible from the street or neighboring homes. A little extra effort in storage goes a long way in keeping the neighborhood looking its best.
Thanks for doing your part to keep our community looking clean and beautiful!

Good news: the removal deadline has been extended to May 15, so there’s still time to get everything squared away. Deer Fencing Guidelines.

All clay courts are officially open! Huge thanks to the RVR maintenance crew (and some perfectly timed warm, dry weather) for getting every court ready for action.
While you’re heading out to hit, please note that construction is still underway in the pool area. For everyone’s safety, be sure to stick to the marked, coned pathway when accessing the courts.
Now grab your racket and enjoy the clay!

Thinking About Fire Mitigation? Start Here |
Did you know that small, proactive improvements can make a meaningful difference in reducing wildfire risk around your home?
As part of the ongoing Ranch House renovation project, a few fire-wise updates are already underway, including the removal of multiple evergreen trees and the addition of fine mesh gutter guards and vent screens. These thoughtful upgrades help prevent dry leaves and debris from collecting in gutters and reduce the chance of embers entering vulnerable areas of the home, simple changes that add an extra layer of protection.
| |
For those considering similar improvements, a mesh size of 1/8 or 1/16 inch is recommended to help block embers while still allowing for proper airflow. (One important note: this type of mesh should not be used for dryer vents, which require unrestricted airflow for safe operation.)
The RVR Design Review Committee continues to support homeowners in making fire mitigation improvements. In fact, the Twenty-Second Amendment to the Design Guidelines, adopted last year, was designed to make these kinds of updates even more accessible. Homeowners now have greater flexibility to reduce tree counts, there is an emphasis on thoughtful, qualitative landscaping rather than strict numbers.
If you’ve been thinking about making fire-wise improvements, it’s a great time to get started. Administrative Review Applications are free, and many projects can be approved quickly through this process. Larger or more complex projects may be reviewed by the committee, but either way, we ask that a Home Improvement Application be submitted to get started.
