Hello to our community! We hope you have had a great start to the week and have been enjoying the start of your programs and activities this Spring season. We wanted to share some new information and updates with you so you could stay in the know with NESA!

Bottle Drive at Steele Heights - May 1/24 (8:30am-12pm)
Kuhlmann's Greenhouse Fundraiser On until April 24/24. Today is the final day for gift card purchases! Click here for more information. *(If you miss the deadline, please still contact us at 780-496-6969 to have your contact information passed on to the staff overseeing this fundraiser).
Choralaires and Handbell Concert at the McClure United Church - May 11/24 at 2pm.
Garden and Plant Sale NESA's Garden Club is hosting its Annual Plant and Garden Sale - May 17/24 10:00am-3:00pm at Steele Heights. 
Succulents with Seniors and Girl Guides at Kilkenny Community League Hall on May 22/24 from 6pm-8pm.

 NESA Volunteers - You are the best!
Happy National Volunteer Month! We extend our deepest gratitude to NESA's dedicated volunteers. The hard work of our volunteers is a huge part of the success that NESA has in our community.

Thank you, NESA volunteers, for your unwavering support of our membership and staff, and for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. Whether it's participating in fundraisers, assisting our administrative team, or helping out at special events, your selfless acts of service make our organization stronger and our community brighter.  Your compassion, generosity, and energy do not go unnoticed. 

Let's celebrate our NESA volunteers and their invaluable contributions this month and always!
P.s. When we get back 'home' to Northgate, know that the NESA team will be planning the return of more Volunteer Appreciation events so we can continue to celebrate and honor this amazing community!
 Another Fundraising Success! Thank you NESA Community!
We are so excited to share with you that our amazing volunteers did it again and hosted another successful book and puzzle fundraiser this season! Since January 1, 2024 NESA has fundraised $3,018.50 in Books and Magazines and $805.00 in Puzzles from our Lil' Book Sales on Mondays and from our Book and Puzzle Sale on April 9 and 10. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our sales!
 A special note of gratitude!
Our amazing and talented Wizards of Odds 'n Ends (NESA's fundraising club) has continued to work away this year at creating and selling one-of-a-kind handmade items. This wonderful group raised almost $3000 this year with all of their sale proceeds having been donated to NESA. A significant portion of these funds have gone towards the NESA transportation subsidy program which helps ensure members can continue to get to and from their programs and activities!
Thank you Wizards for your kind and generous donation and for your ongoing support of our community!
 Do you need help with your Income Tax Filing?
Do you want to have your taxes done for free? The NESA Volunteer Tax Program is on until Monday, May 6, 2024 and we have lots of available appointments!
This is a partnership between NESA and the CRA in order to provide free income tax service to our members. To be eligible, you must be a senior with an income that is less than $35,000 for one person and $45,000 for two people. 
You are welcome to refer your friends and family to the program too!
If you qualify and would like to access the program, please give us a call at 780-496-6969 and leave a message. A volunteer will be in touch with you to set up an appointment. 
NESA and Northgate Cafe Service Proposal: Call to Food Service Vendors
The North Edmonton Seniors Association is currently looking for a cafe operator at the Northgate Lions Centre. Please click here to view the proposal and learn more about the opportunity.
Plant and Garden Sale at NESA!

Grocery Gift Cards - Get yours today!
Did you know that NESA sells grocery gift cards for Sobeys, Safeway, and Save-On Foods? For every grocery card you buy from NESA, our seniors recreation centre earns a small percentage from each card sale. Those funds then go towards our various seniors fundraising initiatives.
