County officials give update on vaccine distribution
Herald Reports

As COVID-19 vaccines continue to roll out, Williamson County officials issued a joint statement Friday to keep residents up to date on phases and the prioritization process.

The Williamson County Health Department is administering vaccines in a phased approach using a waitlist system, named the Williamson County COVID Waitlist. Vaccines are being administered by appointment only.

“We have received numerous questions regarding this process,” said Hannah Bleam, external affairs officer of the Williamson County Emergency Management Agency. “We are asking our community to use our various information lines to receive the most up-to-date information and to be aware that other vaccine providers may be following a different process than what is outlined here.”

Police issue warning on auto burglaries

Herald Reports

A suspect in Franklin was spotted and arrested only moments after assaulting and robbing a shopper outside of her car in a Walmart parking lot Thursday night.

Franklin Police Department officials said the suspect pulled up behind the victim, who was in the process of unlocking her door and getting into her car, shortly before 6 p.m. The suspect grabbed the woman’s purse, and when the victim tried hanging onto it, the suspect repeatedly punched her in the face and head before finally getting away with the purse.

After a description of the suspect and getaway car was broadcast over a police radio, a nearby Franklin police officer pulled over and arrested 25-year-old Kerrigan Larkins on Mallory Lane.

Championship Bowling: Franklin falls in first final, eyes return next season
By Charles PulliamMultimedia Reporter

Just five girls returned from last season’s Franklin High School girls bowling team. The Lady Admirals held tryouts and accepted everyone who showed up – seven fresh faces to fill out the roster.

They raised money together for extra time on the lanes and prepared for a season enduring COVID-19 protocols without ever really thinking they could be bowling for a state championship at the end of the season.

However, the Lady Admirals did just that Friday at the Smyrna Bowling Center, settling for a runner-up trophy in Division I in the school’s first finals appearance in just their second state tournament. That silver plaque will join a District 9 crown and Region 5 one as well.
